Hi Vince, Yes, I think this is the family I'm looking for. Joseph's mother Christie is living with Joseph & Christie (McLeod) on the 1881 census and I have a birth date for Murdock as approximately 1887. An uncle who is researching the McLeod family has this note in his records for Joseph Sr.: "He was a "Fisherman" working out of Glouchester. Mother Christy living with them shown in 1881 census as 59 and 1891 census as 70." Unlike me, my uncle does not source his data so I have no idea where this came from. I would truly appreciate any information you wish to share and would gladly provide details of the McLeod side if you are interested. I know there is a picture of Christie and her mother Mary Ann Ross McLeod (my 2Xggm) in a museum on CB - I believe it is in Port Hastings.
