Halifax Herald January 13, 1966 GLACE BAY - John I. Green, 65, resident of Donkin until two years ago, died at Parry Sound, Ontario. Born in England, he came to Cape Breton at an early age, served with the Canadian Army in Italy during the Second World War, and was employed at Caledonia Colliery until its closure. Member of the Donkin Legion, he is survived by his wife, and three sons, George in Parry Sound; Roy and William in Toronto; two brothers, James in Toronto; Robert in Donkin; five sisters, Mrs. James Sweeney in Toronto; Mrs. Robert Snow, Mrs. Steve Gardiner, Mrs. William Dunn, and Mrs. Marguerite Crinkey, all in West Virginia, U.S.A.
