Cape Breton Deaths August 28, 2008 Thursday Blair Joseph MacLean 61, Grand Narrows - Blair Joseph MacLean, 61, of Grand Narrows, died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008, in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, after a brief illness. Born in Pictou, he was the son of Mary E. (Isabel) MacLean of Grand Narrows and the late Joseph I. MacLean. Besides his mother, he is survived by sisters, Kathleen (Len) Boone, Ottawa, Myrna (Dave) Lafave, Dartmouth, Michele (Ambrose) Pettipas, Lower Sackville; niece, Krista (Adonis) Farray, Ottawa, and nephew, Daniel Pettipas, Lower Sackville. Many thanks to doctors and staff of 4D and ICU of CBRH for their wonderful care and support. Visitation will take place Thursday, Aug. 28 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at St. Barra's Church, Christmas Island. Funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, Aug. 29 at 11 a.m. at St. Barra Church with Rev. Ray Huntley officiating. Interment to follow in the parish cemetery. Donations may be made to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation or a charity of choice. Funeral arrangements under the direction of T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Harold Renwick Musgrave Kentville - Harold Renwick Musgrave, 91, of Kentville, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008, in Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born in Cape Breton, he was a son of the late Charles and Mabel (Cameron) Musgrave. He had been employed with Canadian National Railways and retired as an engineer. He loved spending time with his wife and he enjoyed his dogs. He is survived by his wife, Jane Kalkman-Musgrave; five step-children, Judith Speelman (Anthony Remy), Calgary, Catherine Speelman, Ottawa, Teresa Speelman (Dave MacHattie), Middleton, Walter Speelman, Ottawa, Brian Speelman, Edmonton; five nieces, Mabel, Iretta, Christine, Angela and Mary; two nephews, Bart and Cecil. He was predeceased by a brother, Cecil Sr., a stepbrother, Lloyd 'Babe.' Visitation was held from 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008, Rev. Tim Archibald officiating. Burial will take place in the Fox Hill Cemetery, Starr's Point. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
