Cape Breton Deaths August 09, 2008 Saturday Earl 'Tucker' MacInnis 85, Glace Bay - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Earl 'Tucker' MacInnis, 85, of Jones Manor, Glace Bay, for the past 22 years, on Thursday Aug. 7, 2008, at the Glace Bay Health Care Complex. Born in Glace Bay, Tucker was the son of the late Ronald and Sarah (MacDonald) MacInnis and was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Tucker was a member of Knox United Church. He was employed as a security guard in Ottawa. Back in the 40s, he was a football and soccer player and coach for Mount St. Allison University. Besides his parents, Tucker was predeceased by one sister and two brothers. Visitation for the late Tucker MacInnis will be held in Patten Funeral Home & Chapel, 71 Union St., Glace Bay, 849-7520, Saturday Aug. 9, 2008, from 12-2 p.m., with funeral service to take place at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ralph Johnston officiating. Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery, Dominion Street, Glace Bay. A special thank you to Jones Manor and the nursing staff, to the doctors in the ER at the Glace Bay Health Care Complex and the nursing staff on third east; also to the paramedics and Tucker's family Doctor Kodagoda for all the care and kindness that he gave to him and Harvey and staff of Patten's Funeral Home. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Chadwick 'Chad' Alexander Penny 34, Salmon River - Chadwick 'Chad' Alexander Penny, 34, of Salmon River, passed away suddenly as a result of a motorcycle accident on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008. Born in Antigonish, he was a son of Archie and Anne Penny. He was always there to help family and friends if they needed it, no matter what time of day it was. Chad loved to spend time with his loving wife, Kowanda of 13 years and their son Damien. He would take them out on an evening ride on the bike or on the faithful Wednesday night bike ride with the boys. He had two loves in life; family and his bikes. He enjoyed being a mechanic where he was employed at Taylor Automotive. When it came to fixing bikes or cars he was full of knowledge. There was no job too big for him. He is also survived by three brothers, Kenny, Corky (Crystal Chapman) and Rory Penny; sister, Faith Penny; stepmother, Berlee Penny; brother-in-law, Jeff Millard (Jayne); nieces, Grace and Emma Millard; nephews, Jeremy and Braxton Penny. He was a special son-in-law to George and Eileen Millard. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Joseph and Helen McIntyre and Winston and Mary Penny. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Aug. 10 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. A funeral service will be held Monday, Aug. 11 at 2 p.m. in the Cornerstone Assembly, Bible Hill, Pastor Oral Stewart officiating. Interment in Bible Hill Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.colchestercommunity.com. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dominic Joseph Aucoin Sept. 10, 1917-Aug. 7, 200 - Dominic Joseph Aucoin passed away peacefully at Taigh Na Mara after a gallant struggle. Dominic was a veteran of the three branches of the Armed Services during the Second World War and a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion and Knights of Columbus in Sydney. Dominic was a good man who will be dearly missed by his wife, Diane; daughter, Ann; step-children, Cindy, Laurie, Christopher and Joseph; and eight grandchildren; as well as many friends. A memorial mass will be held in his honour Monday, Aug. 11, 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church with Fr. O'Connor officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Veterans Comfort Fund would be greatly appreciated.
