Cape Breton Deaths October 17, 2008 Friday Eileen Mullins 78, Sydney Forks - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Eileen Mullins, Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008, at the Alderwood Rest Home, Baddeck, surrounded by her loving family. Eileen was employed with the Tasty Treat Drive-in Ltd. for 26 years. She was dedicated to her family. She especially enjoyed 'nanny night' with the kids and card night with dear relatives. Eileen is survived by her children, Dorothy Anne (Gerald) MacQuin, Loch Lomond, Susan (Brian) Horne, Sydney Forks, Debbie (Jens) Heukendorff, Sydney, Kathy (Cliff) Belanger, Edmonton, Ellen Mullins, Sydney Forks; and daughter-in-law, Rhonda Mullins, David (Debbie) Howie Centre, Darrell (Freda), Glace Bay; sisters, Kitty Keroack, St. Bruno, Que., Bridget Sidel, Zita White, Sydney, Leone Middleton, Ontario; 22 grandchildren;13 great-grandchildren; special sisters-in-law, Sheila MacArthur and Martha Mullins, several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Eric Mullins, (1985), son, Rick Mullins, brother, Tom White, sisters, Betty King and Ida Jobes, one brother in infancy, William. Visitation will take place Saturday, Oct. 18 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Sheldon Chant officiating. Interment to follow in Alfred E. Smith Cemetery. Beloved husband of Rosemary Woollam. Loving father of Jane (Clark). Dear brother of Muriel Smith, John (Lorraine) and the late Rev. W.A. MacAulay and Robert. Brother-in-law of Catherine Wells (Brian), Charles (Ligia), Anne (Bill) and the late Brenda Woollam. Maurice will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Funeral was at St. Mark's Catholic Church, Aylmer, for Mass of Christian Funeral at 11 a.m. Interment at Notre Dame Cemetery, Ottawa. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ottawa Heart Institute appreciated. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Steve White Surrey, B.C. - It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Steve White of Surrey B.C., formerly of Sydney, N.S. Born in Sydney, Steve was a son of the late Annie Mae (MacPhee) White and Wilford White. Besides his parents, Steve was also predeceased by two sisters, Florence and Pearl. Steve will be sadly missed by his companion, Lei Stewart, who with kindness and compassion cared for him through his years of illness. He is also survived by a brother, Angus, Sydney; and a sister, Juanita, Vancouver; three nephews, Halifax and one niece, Vancouver. MacMullin-Nolan Oct. 12,1928-Oct. 12, 2008 - Daughter of the late Neil R. and Mary S. MacMullin of Sydney Mines, Cape Breton. Survived by her loving family, Dianne Warren, her heart's daughter, Tara (Andrew) Belyea; her heart's grandchildren, AuroraAnn, Samantha and Colby. Also survived by her sisters, Christena MacMillan, Rhodena Moore, many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers, Michael, Rory, Archibald, Roderick, John, sisters, Catherine, Evelyn, Florence and Margaret. Cremation has taken place.
