Cape Breton Deaths October 07, 2008 Tuesday Robert Curtis Paul 27, Eskasoni - Robert Curtis Paul, 27, of 365 Castle Bay Rd., Eskasoni, passed away suddenly on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008. Born in Sydney, he was the son of Charles William Francis and Bridget Ann Marie Paul and stepdad, Robert Herney. He was a member of Holy Family parish, Eskasoni. Robert was a talented handyman who did carpentry and labour work while attending T.E.C. up to the present time. A poet and romantic at heart, he will be remembered for the poems he wrote, the practical jokes he played and the smile on his face. He was an avid outdoorsman. He is survived by his Kekunit-Mom, Elizabeth Doucette and stepdad, Seymour Doucette, Eskasoni. He is survived by sisters, Mary Charlotte, Membertou, Phelecia, Ally, Tiffany, Mag, Maddie, Lynn, Khrishna, all of Eskasoni, Jenna, Sydney; by brothers, Louis, Wagmatcook, Ryan and Chuck, both of Sydney, Dan, Mour, Joey, all of Eskasoni and Jr. Gould, Whycocomagh and by several nieces, nephews and many cousins, aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by brothers, Charlton Jay and B.J. and paternal and maternal grandparents. Visitation for the late Mr. Paul will take place Thursday after 7 p.m. at 365 Castle Bay Rd., Eskasoni. Smith 55, Sydney River - It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Teresa Smith, Sydney River, Oct. 4, 2008. Born in Grand Mira South, she was the youngest daughter of the late Harry and Annie (MacIntyre) Thomas. Teresa was a member of Our Lady of Fatima parish. She was a kind and caring person who's passing has left a void in the lives of all who knew and loved her. Teresa will be greatly missed by her husband, George Keats; their four children, Karen (Terry) Lawrence, Howie Centre, Terrance (Tracy) Smith, Calgary, Janice (Owen Cunningham), Howie Centre, and Mary (Chris Marks), Sydney River. Her greatest joy in life was her six grandchildren, Brittany, Samantha, Nicholas, Dylon, Katie and Jacqueline. Born in Glace Bay, he was the youngest son of the late Lubin and Sophie (Aucoin) Bisson. He is survived by his precious wife, Marie (MacIntyre) and their two daughters, Bernadette and her husband, Sander Taylor (Liam and Meghan) and Marie and her husband, Wayne Fennell, all of Northside East Bay. Dannie is also survived by his brothers, Rev. Father Cliff Bisson, Glace Bay, Lubie (Joan), Oakville, Ont. and sisters, Marg (Driscoll), Toronto, Ont., Theresa (Irwin MacMaster), Glace Bay, Bernadette (Ed Ingham), Glace Bay and Rosie (Dannie MacMullin), Glace Bay. A man of great patience and incredible appreciation for the gifts of nature. There was no more beautiful sight to him than the view from the bench at the top of our field. Another great love for Dannie was the gift of music, which is still resounding through our old farm house. His passion for sport cannot go without mention. A hockey player himself for years, he followed this up by coaching ball and hockey teams in Glace Bay and later in East Bay. We will undoubtedly miss his mischievous smile and hearty laugh - enjoy the dance, Dad. Dannie was predeceased by brothers, Wilfred and Melvin and by sisters, Mary Elsie (in childhood) and Betty (Alex Chisholm), Antigonish. He was also recently predeceased by his dear friend and mother-in-law, Chris MacIntyre, who spent endless hours playing piano for him during these last few years. Pius cherished time with his family and especially enjoyed his beloved grandchildren who brought so much joy to his life. Born in Port Morien, Dale was the son of Frances (Clements) and the late Roger Loiseau. Besides his mother, Dale is survived by brothers, Roger (Bonnie), St. Catharines, Shane (Louise), Hamilton; niece, Emily; nephew, Eric, Hamilton; there are many aunts, uncles and cousins left to mourn his loss. Reception to follow in the parish hall. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Claude Anthony MacIsaac 61, Dartmouth/Sydney - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our brother, Claude Anthony 'Tony' MacIsaac on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008. Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Michael J. MacIsaac and Margaret Pauline (O'Rielley) MacIsaac, formerly of Whitney Avenue. Claude worked as a licensed practical nurse for many years and in earlier years was employed with the N.S. Children's Training Centre. In his work life he showed compassion and caring for those in his care. Claude was an avid baseball and hockey fan, never missing a game with the Leafs and Jays. He also enjoyed family get-togethers, especially in Cape Breton. His sense of humour and friendship will be dearly missed. MacEachern 75, Boularderie - It is with peaceful sadness that we the family announce the passing of our darling M.J. MacEachern of Boularderie at the Northside General Hospital, on Oct. 5, 2008, in his 75th year. He was a kind and gentle soul, a devoted husband and proud and loving father and grandfather and was dearly loved by his family, and all who knew him. He touched the hearts of all who knew him. Born in Goose Cove, Victoria County, he was the son of the late Annabelle (MacEachern) Urquhart. Surviving is his loving wife of 46 years, Mabel (Clarke), who was his constant source of love, hope, strength and support throughout his lengthy illness; sons, Stephen (Carolyn), Halifax, and David (Peggi) and granddaughters, Abbie and Olivia, and three step-grandchildren, Kris, Darcy and Jillian Musgrave, Ottawa; brother, Charlie (Mary) and their children, Leah and Adrien of Tarbot. Special in-laws, Peg and Jim Squires and their children, Sheldon (Loretta), Trevor (Tina), Valeria (Mike) Dolmont. M.J will fondly be remembered by our neighbours and guardian angels, Dr. A. Gordon and Mae MacKenzie. Besides his mother, M.J. was predeceased by his stepfather, John Tom Urquhart and the people he lived with all his young life, Murdock and Mary Smith and their son, Colin. M.J. worked for Speedy Propane in Sydney for 23 years, was a member and elder of St. James Presbyterian Church, Big Bras d'Or. He loved hunting and travelling with family and friends and was a member of the C.B. Ceilidh Campers. By his request the body was cremated. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Oct. 7 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A memorial service will be held at St. James Presbyterian Church, Wednesday, Oct. 8, Rev. Ritchie Robinson officiating at 2 p.m. with interment in the St. James Cemetery.
