    3. There is a Prince Edward Island connection to this story. D. L. MacKinnon of Montague manufactured caskets and a mortician in Sydney was his Cape Breton agent. D.L. happened to be in Sydney when Bell died. Bell was buried in a rough casket made from lumber from his own property. It was lined with material (some sort of silk???) having to do with aviation. Then the casket was placed in a (bronze?) vault that was sold by the Montague Furnishing Company and came out of the warehouse in Sydney. The purpose of the vault was for the potential of the movement of the remains at a later date to a cemetery in the United States. There are pictures Nigel and if you wish to contact me off list at whleard@ekpei.ca, I can lead you to someone who can give you the whole story. I believe the name of the funeral director is in that material. Take good care . . .
