Vancouver Sun Fri 3 Oct 08 Douglas Haig McLean McLEAN - Douglas Haig (March 28, 1919 - September 29, 2008) Our much beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away suddenly at the age of 89. Doug leaves behind his loving wife of 57 years, Doreen, daughters Debra and Tracy (Gary), grandson Dan and granddaughter Shannon. Predeceased by parents Neil and Ethel, sisters Marion, Agnes and Audrey, brothers Wilf and Ted. Leaving behind Eileen, Pearl, Dorothy, Arnie, Milton and Bob along with many nieces and nephews. Doug was born in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and made his way west where he enlisted and served his country overseas in WW 11 with the PPCLI. Doug met and married Doreen where they made Richmond and finally Ladner their home. His quick wit, warmth and charm will be greatly missed by all. Special thanks to the staff at Westshore Laylum, the paramedics of B.C. Ambulance and the fire and police departments of Delta for the efforts, care and support during Doug's final moments. A memorial celebration of Doug's life will be held at Delta Funeral Home on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 11:00 AM.
