Cape Breton Deaths October 29, 2008 Wednesday Keith Robert Fahey 52, Halifax - Keith Robert Fahey, 52, of Halifax, passed away peacefully amongst family and friends on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at the QEII Health Science Centre. Born in Glace Bay, May 30, 1956, he was the son of the late Joseph and Emma (Curtis) Fahey. Keith is survived by his wife, Donna Keasey, Halifax; daughter, Vanessa Goodall, Edmonton; brother, Joseph (Aileen) Fahey, Glace Bay; and several nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Spryfield legion and the Metro Pool League. He enjoyed playing pool, fishing, going for long drives and playing the guitar. Cremation has taken place. Funeral service to be held 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 31, 2008, in St. Joseph's Church, Reserve Mines, with Fr. Gerald Campbell officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Glace Bay with reception to follow in the parish basement. He was the son of the late George and Margaret Warner. Jim was a plumber by trade, retiring from Devco. Born in Stillwater, she was the daughter of the late Archie MacDonald and Effie MacLean. Dollena was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, Sydney, and a past member of the Rebekah Lodge. She was employed with Simpson Sears until her retirement. Dollena enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching hockey with her husband and spending time at the Bungalow in Mira. Dollena is survived by her son, Henry 'Hank' (Libby) MacDonald; daughter, Carey Dale (Ross) Kinder; grandchildren, Donna Marie, Jayne Lynn, Jason, Stephanie, Angela and three great-grandchildren, Amanda, Kayla and Jenna; as well as her special friends, Babe and Ivan Crowdis. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John Carey MacDonald, (2006) and brother, Roddie MacDonald. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Born in Inverness, he was a son of the late Donald and Agnes MacAulay. Jackie was a great family man, friend and co-worker and a 30-year employee of Nova Scotia Power Inc. His hobbies included swimming and gardening. Jackie was an avid fan of the game of hockey. In his earlier years, he was a founding member of the Senior League Gillis Cats, following which he devoted 27 years volunteering as a coach to both minor and high school hockey. He was instrumental in bringing Major Midget Triple A Hockey to the Cape Breton West area as a founding member of the Rod's One Stop Eagles, now known as the Cape Breton West Islanders. He was also a diehard Montreal Canadiens fan. His commitment to the local community through involvement with Helping Hands South of Smokey and Essence of Scotland Highland Dance organizations was surpassed only by his commitment to his family. Left to survive his loss are his wife, Betty; son, Frankie and Val; daughter, Nadia and Matt; daughter, Elizabeth and Waleed; his brother, Bobby; and his companions, Sadie and Cooper. Visitaiton for the late Jackie MacAulay will be in MacAskill Funeral Home, Baddeck, Thursday, Oct. 30 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral will be Friday, Oct. 31 in Knox Presbyterian Church, at 11 a.m., Rev. Born in Sydney, N.S., she was the daughter of Philip and Lillian (Wilton) Mauger. Betty was employed at the Welland County General Hospital, until her retirement in 1979. Mother of Gary (Josie) and Jan (Helen), both of Welland. She will be sadly missed by her grandsons, Jamie (Shannon) Rogers, Whitby, and Patrick Rogers, Toronto. Loving great-grandmother of Kathleen and Brian Rogers. Sister of George (Gladys) Mauger, Dartmouth, N.S., Mae Tulk, Deer Lake, Nfld., and Thelma Jodoin, Ottawa. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Wauchope 'Tex' Rogers, brothers, Charlie, Clem and Doug, sisters, Marcella, Jessie, Georgina, Joyce, Alma and Edith.
