Born in Sydney Mines, he was a son of the late George and Veronica (Cholock) Podetz. He was a member of St. Pius X Parish. He was employed as a miner at Princess Colliery for 41 years. He is survived by his wife, the former Anna Mills; three sons, Greg, London, Ont.; John, George, both of Sydney Mines; 11 grandchildren; a great-grandchild. He was predeceased by a son, Stephen; two brothers, Nicholas, John; three sisters, Helen, Margaret, Mary. The body is in Francis' Funeral Home, Sydney Mines, visiting 7-0 pm today, 2-4, 7-9 pm Sunday. Funeral will be 10 am Monday in St. Pius X Church, Rev. John Capstick officiating.
