THE SYDNEY RECORD, OCTOBER 15, 1915 VETERAN MINER'S DEATH James Baird, one of the veterans miners of Nova Scotia, passed away at his home at J(e/o?)ggins Mines, on Monday night, after an illness extending over several weeks. The late Mr. Baird at the time of his death was in the 76th year of his age, and was probably one of the best known miners in this Province. He came to Nova Scotia from Scotland many years ago, when comparatively a young man and for a time was in the employ of the Old Londonderry Iron & Coal Company in the early days of the Chignecto Mines. He was a manager of that colliery when owned by the Londonderry company. submitted by es718 <es718@freenet.carleton.ca>
