The Sydney Record - September 14, 1915 DROWNED IN CALIFORNIA The Oakland, Cal., "Maple Leaf" announces the death of Peter McIntyre, formerly of Big Pond, and a son of the late James McIntyre, of that place. Mr. McIntyre, who was a resident of San San Francisco, was drowned when returned from a gathering of the Scottish Thistle club, on July 5th. He was last seen alive as he boarded the train for the ferry. His body was found floating in the bay. Mr. McIntyre was sixty years of age and had been in his younger days a crack runner and walker winning many medals and trophies for these events at different meets. He was unmarried. The funeral was under the auspices of the Caledonia Club. Interment being at Holy Cross cemetery, San Francisco.
