Looking for any information on the following: Angus McLEOD b. Stoer, Sutherland, about 1800+ Catherine McLEOD b. Badnabbon, Scotland abt 1828 married 9 Jul 1844 Assynt, Sutherland. Daughter Jane b. 1845 mrd George Frederick BRAGGINS in Auckland, NZ 8 Nov 1864. It is possible that Angus and Catherine had some family connection to the Rev Norman McLEOD and his followers. Catherine was widowed at some stage - possibly prior to arrival in NZ, she then married George CRAIG in NZ in1863. I have not been able to find deaths for either Catherine or George in NZ and it is possible that they went back to Nova Scotia or possibly Scotland. Neither have I been able to determine whether Jane and her mother Catherine came to NZ from Nova Scotia, or direct from Scotland. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who knows anything about this family.
