You are able to obtain all this info for a small price if you contact the Library and Archives in Ottawa, Click on Canadian Genealogy Centre after you decide if you want the info in English or French, then go down and click on military, then World War 1 and finally search our database. I'm waiting for that info about one of our ancestors so don't know how extensive the records are that are released. I called first and the lady who answered my call was very helpful in directing me to the correct site. She said it would likely take about 5-6 weeks after submitting your request. You are charged about 20-30 cents/page depending on whether you're a senior. I wouldn't think there would be many pages for your relatives short service.
