Hi All, I was hoping someone might have some knowledge of or have an obituary for a Martha Crane who passed away possibly the last year or so .Not sure about how accurate my information or dates are .I was told Martha was the companion of John Hustuc (unsure of correct spelling ). HI Jackie, I just sent you this, but here it is again for the rest of the list Cape Breton Deaths March 01, 2008 Saturday Martha Crane Skavn - Martha Crane Skavn of Sydney, N.S, passed away Feb. 29, 2008, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Martha was born Oct. 5, 1921, in Sydney, the daughter of the late Gertrude McDougall. Martha was a devoted member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses and has touched many people's lives. Martha was loved by many and will be terribly missed by her loved ones. Survivors include, son, John Crane (wife Sharon), Burlington, Ont.; stepdaughter, Elsie Bannister (husband Bill), Halifax; and daughterin- law, Karen Crane, Sydney; four grandchildren, Michelle, Kim, Shaun and Blair; and three greatgrandchildren, Jack, Jake and Cole. Martha precedes her husband, Fred Skavn, son, Bill Crane, sister, Anne Pearcy, stepson, Roy MacLean and Papa John Hustick. A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Alexandra Street, Sydney, Friday, March 7 at 2 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at sydmemchapel@ns.sympatico.ca.     3. and one more, the son of Martha Crane Skavn Cape Breton Deaths April 02, 2007 Monday William Crane Sydney It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William 'Bill' Crane, Gattacre Street, who passed away peacefully, Sunday, April 1, 2007, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was the son of Martha (Crane) Skaun. Bill will always be remembered as an easy going, and loving man, who hated to put anyone out of their way to help him, but was more than willing to help anyone in need. Before his retirement Bill worked at the CBCCC for 33 years. He enjoyed fishing, darts, cards and most of all, just going for a drive in the car. He is survived by his loving wife, Karen (Stevens) Crane; daughter, Kim (Glen), Ontario; son, Shaun; brother, John (Lou) Crane; mother, Martha Skaun and stepsister, Elsie (Bill) Bannister. He was predeceased by papa, John Hostiuck and by stepbrother, Roy MacLean, Ontario. Visitation will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place Wednesday, 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Fr. Marchand officiating. Family flowers only, memorial donations may be sent to the Palliative Care Unit or charityof choice. Condolences may be sent to the family at sydmemchapel@ns.sympatico.ca.
