Hi -- Alexander Richardson, born Aberlady, East Lothian, Scotland in 1753, married Ann Whittingham 1779 in Chelsea, Mddx, England (my 4 ggparents). Immigrated to PEI (according to a "history" written by a distant cousin) shortly after the end of the Revolutionary War. I did some research on Alexander some years ago when I was at the LDS Library in Salt Lake City, Utah. In this "history" it states that he had a brother who lived on Cape Breton, but they evidently didn't communicate. From the parish registers of Aberlady (Scotland), I found three siblings for Alexander, two of whom died a short time after birth, and a brother, Robert, born 1745. Now, from prior research, I've found a Robert Richardson in Cape Breton so now I'd like to see if I can somehow either confirm or eliminate this Robert as Alexander's brother. Could anyone give me suggestions as to where to go with my research? A trip to the Maritimes isn't possible -- so are there other things I could try? Any help would be appreciated.
