"The Sydney Post-Record," Thursday, 08 Oct 1936, page 11, NSARM 1420, One of Sydney's most respected and esteemed residents passed away at her home of Ferris Street, in the person of Mrs. Roman Siwak. The deceased lady had been ill for a number of years, but bore her suffering with christian fortitude and passed away strengthened by the last rites of the Catholic church, of which she was a devout member. Of a kindly and generous nature, the beloved wife and mother, will be greatly missed in the community. Surviving besides her husband are two daughters, Sister Mary ?ita and Sister Mary, of the Order of St. Benedict, Winipeg, also another daughter, Jennie of Montreal and son Casimin of Detroit, besides eight other children residing at home. The sympathy of a large number of friends is extended to the bereaved husband and family in their irreparable loss. The funeral will be held on Wednesday to St. Mary's Polish Church, of which the late Mrs. Vivak (sic) was a member.
