May 9, 1987 Halifax Chronicle Herald: FIVE ISLANDS - Robert W. Bowran, 86, Five Islands, Colchester County, died Friday in Parrsboro Hospital. Born in Florence, he was the son of the late Daniel and Clarice (Simmons) Bowran. He was a retired lumberman. He has worked for H.E. Pugsley and Sons Ltd. for more than 30 years. He is survived by two daughters, Pat, Parrsboro; Greta (Mrs. Keith Lewis), Five Islands; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; four sisters, Lillian (Mrs. Thompson Corbett), Farmingdale, N.J.; Emma (Mrs. William Baltzer), N.Y.; Inez (Mrs. Hilson Boudreau), Campbellton, N.B.; Mildred (Mrs. Herbert Waugh), Five Islands. The body is in Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Peniel United Church, Five Islands, Rev. Margaret Outerbridge officiating.
