Aug 24, 1965 Chronicle Herald: NEW GLASGOW - Howard Fulton Ross, 529 Pleasant Street, died Monday in the Aberdeen Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 86. Mr. Ross was a coalminer most of his life and retired in 1945. He was an adherent of Trinity United Church. Surviving are his wife, the former Dorothy Livingstone, and five daughters, Ida (Mrs. Thomas MacKay), Stellarton; June (Mrs. Frank Munro), Marion, Mrs. Dan Heighton), Mae (Mrs. Don Weir), all of New Glasgow; and Vivian (Mrs. Raymond Tucker), Little Harbour. His body is at the H.W. Angus Funeral Home where the funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will be in Lorne Street Cemetery. submitted by "Gerry Mattinson" <gmattins@rogers.com>
