Is there someone out there who remembers the name of a restaurant/lounge that was in Howie Centre in the early 60's? It was on the lefthand side of the highway as you were heading towards the Blacketts Lake turnoff. My sister used to head out there after dances at the Venetian Gardens in Sydney around 1962-3. She can't remember the name but maybe you were part of that crowd and have a better memory. Gail for Bev
I believe the place was named the Golden Nugget and it was owned by a Mr. Hanna....I attended a few functions there. It was located on the Sydney side of the 7 Mile Bridge... now the East Bay Legion. kind regards, Sandra ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gail Priddle" <gpriddle@accesswave.ca> To: <NS-CAPE-BRETON@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, July 19, 2008 3:58 PM Subject: [NS-CB] Howie Centre Restaurant/Lounge 1960's > Is there someone out there who remembers the name of a restaurant/lounge > that was in Howie Centre in the early 60's?
