On the marriage record of John Young and Elizabeth MacKinnon (1867) - I read John's parents as John Young and Jane Leguire. (I can't seem to find anything beyond that). John (Jr) was born in Little Bras d'Or in about 1843 according to his age at the time of marriage. (The 1881 census though makes him born 1851 (see below). Records I found of the children of John Young and Elizabeth MacKinnon are as follows: Marriage of Christina Young to James MacNeil on 02 Aug 1921 - parents of Christina are John Young and Elizabeth MacKinnon. Her age on the marriage record was quoted as 39 - but I think that's wrong because of the 1881 census below. Marriage of Daniel Joseph Young on 08 Jun 1927 to Ellen Roche (widow) d/o Samuel Corkum and Annie Jonorey(?). Parents of Daniel are John Young and Lizze McKinnon. His age is 42 on the marriage record - but I think that's wrong too because he's already born on the 1881 census. Marriage of Katie Young on 25 Jan 1916 in Glace Bay to Francis Malloy. Parents of Katie are John Young and Eliza MacKinnon. Her age is 26 and that's pretty close to the 1911 census, where she's living with her brother, John (born Oct 1873) and his wife Bessie. Death record of Joseph Young on 16 Dec 1844 in Glace Bay. Parents: John Young and Elizabeth MacKinnon. Born 03 Apr 1892. I just read one of Lark's previous messages where he notes that John's parents were John Joseph Young and Jane Lejeune (not Leguire). I've been looking at every Young/Lejeune record I can find - but no luck yet on these two.
