Feb 29, 1960 Chronicle Herald: GLACE BAY - Funeral services will be held here Tuesday for Walter T. Mattinson, a native of Beckwith, Cumberland County, who was superintendent of Dominion Coal Company's telephone system until superannuation in 1956. An elder and Sunday school teacher of Knox United Church for many years, he was Sunday school treasurer for 25 years. Mr. Mattinson was a 50-jewel member of the IOOF and also of Jubilee Rebekah Lodge. He was past noble grand of Aberdeen Lodge. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mary, Glace Bay; Mrs. Arthur Gourley, Saginaw, Mich.; a son, Harold, Saginaw; three brothers, Isaac, now superintendent of the company's phone system; Millidge, Amherst; Fred, Vancouver, and a sister, Mrs. Jack Thurlow, Detroit. submitted by "Gerry Mattinson" <gmattins@rogers.com>
