Finlay, John M. - published March 20, 2009 Mora Campbell, Baddeck - Mora Christine Campbell, 75 of Baddeck, N.S., passed away peacefully on Friday, March 20, 2009, at Alderwood Rest Home. Mora grew up in Breton Cove, then moved to Baddeck, where she resided with her husband, Carl for 56 years. Mora was the only child of John J. and Effie (Urquhart) MacLeod. She was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Baddeck. She is survived by her husband, Carl; daughters, Gayle (Jim) MacDonald, Judique, Ann Marie, Patti Sue (Peter) Macaulay, both of Baddeck; sons, Jamie (Carol), Sandy (Annie) and Carl Jr., all of Baddeck; grandchildren, Sara, Candra (Christopher), Jaime Anne, Tara (Mark), Patrick, Breagh, Peter (Jeanne), Hailee, Madison and Amber; great grandchildren, Megan and Maci Spatcher. Special friends and cousins, Heather and Norman Johnston, Grace Ann MacDonald, Shirley and Wendell MacDonald ; very close and dear friend, Charal; sisters-in-law, Christine Ross, Sadie (Roger) Cann and Marilyn Cameron. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by son-in-law, Don. Visitation will be held Monday, March 23, 2009 from 2-8 p.m. at MacAskill Funeral Home, Baddeck. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 24 at 11 a.m. at Knox Presbyterian Church, Baddeck, with Rev. Cameron Brett officiating. Family flowers only. John will be sadly missed by his wife, Marian, four sons, Ron Finlay of Winnipeg, Ray and Mona Finlay of Lloydminster, Dave and Mona Finlay of Sydney, Al and Laura Finlay of Lloydminster, nine grandchildren, five stepchildren, Rob and Fern Scott of Westlock, Tina and Dale Kostuck of Spruce Grove, Gerry and Laurie Scott of Lloydminster, Susan and Rick Barnett of Edmonton, Dave Sexsmith of Vereville, 12 step grandchildren, three sisters, Frances Glencross of Ontario, Marian Cruikshanks of Vancouver, and Helen adn Art Morrow of Winnipeg. John was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Lily Finlay, his brother Bob and step daughter-in-law Karen Sexsmith. The funeral service was conducted from the Grace United Church, Lloydminster, Alta, on Saturday March 14, 2009, at 10:30 am with Rev., Sue Hertell officiating. Interment was held at eh Lloydminster City Cemetery. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd, of Lloydminster, Alta, administered the funeral arrangements.
