    3. Hello Margaret; I don't read the obits on line, but I do read them in the daily paper. This is the obit that appeared on line & was posted by Carol's to the list on March 5th/09 Joyce Parsons, Glace Bay at Carbonear , Newfoundland , Canada - It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of Joyce Estella Parsons, 85 of Glace Bay, on March 3, 2009 at the Glace Bay Health Care Complex. Born in Carbonear, Nfld., Joyce was the daughter of George Brenton and Susanne Babbs. She was employed with Home Care in Sydney. Joyce also cared for and looked after numerous children throughout her life. Joyce was a member of the Salvation Army. Joyce is survived by daughter, Pauline, Sydney; sister, Laura McCarthy, Glace Bay; grandchildren, Billy (Michelle) MacNeil, Sheri (Ross) MacIntyre; great grandchildren Shelby, Jenelle and Oliva. Besides her parents, Joyce was predeceased by her husband, George; brother, George; sisters, Golda and Francis. A special thank you to the staff of the Seaview Manor for the care they gave to Joyce over the past number of years, and thank you to the staff of the Glace Bay Hospital for being there at our time of need and also a special thank you to Dr. Gordon Spencer. Visitation for the late Joyce Parson will take place on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay, 849-7520 from 1-3 p.m. Funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 3 p.m. with Rev. Fred Courtney officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. Donations in Joyce's memory can be made to the Alzheimer Society. The obits are received the day before publication. "As for Glace Bay at Carbonear, Newfoundland, Canada" Glace Bay is still on Cape Breton, and hasn't drifted away on the ice, and become stuck at Carbonear, Nfld. Don't worry Margaret you aren't losing it, any more than we lost Glace Bay.
