Brown, 66, Glace Bay - Terrance Brown, Sydney at Glace Bay , Nova Scotia , Canada - Terry passed away peacefully Monday, March 9, 2009, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. He was a son of the late Willie and Nellie Brown of Caledonia. Terry lived in Glace Bay for most of his life. He spent a number of years in the culinary services field in Ontario and also worked in the healthcare field at the psychiatric unit of Montreal Hospital. He enjoyed the arts and had a passion and flair for interior decorating 'decorating on a shoestring'; and answered many tailoring requests as well as window dressing and design for local hotels. Surviving are nieces, Carolyn (William) Snow, Sydney, and Diana (Gerry) Furlong, Mira Gut; nephews, James McKinnon, Glace Bay, William (Bev) MacKinnon, Edmonton, and Sandy (Jerry) MacDonald, Halifax; as well as many close friends who were like family to him. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a sister, Rita MacDonald (nee Brown). Cremation has taken place. A funeral Liturgy of the Word will be celebrated by Rev. Born in Wallace, N.S., she was the daughter of the late Dr. Frank and Mrs. Harriet (Flynn) Charman. Irma will be remembered for her "joie de vivre", her warm hospitality and her wonderful gardens. She was a teacher for the County of Cape Breton, an avid reader and she enjoyed writing and painting.
