Tighe, Ivan Frederick - published March 22, 2009 Gordon MacEachern, Bobcaygeon at Glace Bay , Nova Scotia , Canada - It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Gordon Joseph "Gordie" MacEachern, 50, at his home in Bobcaygeon, Ont., March 19, 2009. Formerly of Glace Bay, Gordie was the son of Mary Christine (MacDonald) MacEachern and the late John Hugh MacEachern. Besides his mother, Gordie is survived by his loving wife, Louise (Bresson) MacEachern; his sisters, Patricia MacEachern, Glace Bay, Doreen (Mike) Burke, Halifax, Elizabeth (David) Raniseth, Glace Bay, Phyllis (Ron) Jackson, Summerside, PEI, Jean MacEachern, Glace Bay; brothers, Dr. John (Nancy) MacEachern, Berwick, Neil (Mary) MacEachern, Halifax; as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Besides his father Gordie was predeceased by his nephew, Neil Brennan MacEachern. Gordie will also be missed by his mother-in-law, Doris Bresson as well as the other members of the Bresson family. Cremation has taken place in Bobcaygeon. A memorial service will take place at a later date. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of choice. Josie (Dolly) Smith, Baddeck at Tarbat , Nova Scotia , Canada - Josie Dolena ?Dolly? Smith, 83, Englishtown, passed away March 20, 2009, in Victoria County Memorial Hospital. Born in Tarbat, she was the daughter of the late D.W. and Margaret ?Peggy? (Morrison) MacLeod. She was a member of the following, North River/North Shore Presbyterian Pastoral Church, a treasurer of North Shore and District Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years, AMS, Home and Hospital, North Shore Home and School, and North Shore Seniors Society. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, bingo, cooking, baking and community functions. She is survived by her husband, Les Smith; daughters, Merle (Mike) MacDonald, Bras d?Or, Debbie (Angus) MacLeod, Goose Cove; sister, Effie Shaw, Baddeck Bay; grandchildren, David (Carla) MacDonald, Fort McMurray, Alta., Dale MacDonald, Antigonish, Morris MacLeod, Halifax, Kieran MacLeod, Goose Cove; great-grandchildren, Nicholas MacDonald, Fort McMurray (Nanny?s pride and joy); several nieces, nephews, cousins; sister-in-law, Marilyn (Joe) Gledhill, Halifax. She was predeceased by her first husband, M.J. Buchanon, sisters, Margaret Ann Campbell, Christy Stevenson, niece, Sandra Shaw, nephew, Kenneth Stevenson, half-sister, Molly Campbell and nephew, Billy Davis. Visitation to take place in North River Presbyterian Church, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, March 25 with funeral also Wednesday at 2 p.m. in North River Presbyterian Church, Rev. Shirley Murdock officiating. Burial will be in Pinehill Cemetery. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Arrangements are under the direction of MacAskill Funeral Home, Baddeck. Ivan Fredrick Tighe 25, New Victoria - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son, Ivan Frederick Tighe on Thursday, March 19, 2009, in Perth Andover, NB. Born in Sydney, Ivan was the son of catherine Tighe and Joseph Ling, New Victoria, CB. Ivan was a member of St. Leonard's parish, formerly St. Joseph's, New Victoria. He was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew and uncle. He was the love of his girlfriend, Nicole's life. Ivan loved spending time and hanging out with family and friends. He was a member of Local 682 Plumbers & Pipe Fitters and mostly worked in Port Hawkesbury. Ivan loved life and lived it to the fullest. He will always be remembered for his cheerful smile and eagerness to lend a helping hand. Ivan has left many unforgettable memories in all our hearts and he will be greatly missed. Besides his parents, Ivan is survived by his girlfriend, Micole MacKay of New Waterford, sisters, Bernice of New Victoria, Tammy (Danny) Hirchi of Perth Andover, NB, brothers, Paul (Helen) Tatlock, Tyler (Missie) Tatlock, both of Perth Andover, BC, nieces, Brooklynn and Isabella of New Victoria, Ashley, Missie and nephews, Chris and Landon, all of Perth Andover, NB. Also surviving are his maternal grandfather, Wallace Tighe of New Victoria, paternal grandmother, Bernice Tatlock of Perth Andover, NB, and many moving aunts and uncles. Ivan was predeceeased by his sister, Joy Tighe, and maternal grandmother, Joyce Tighe, and paternal grandfather, Arnold Tatlock. Visitation for Ivan will be held on Monday, March 23, 2009 from 7-9 pm and Tuesday, March 24, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford. A celebration of Ivan's life will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at the Parish of St. leonard/St. Michael's Church with Fr. Doug MacDOnald officiaating. A reception will follow in St. Anges Hall. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, New Victoria at a later date. Donaltions in Ivan's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
