I just learned of the Hunt connection this year when I found Florence Gillis' birth in NSHVS Two of Kenneth and Florence Gillis' sons stayed in CB: Alex and Angus who married Elizabeth McKinnon, a Catholic, and was disowned or shunned by the rest of the family. My father knew his name but nothing about what happened to him. Juanita kindly give me lots of info on him and his family. The third son, my grandfather Neil Harry went from CB to Cambridge MA via Toronto. He was a mate on a Great Lakes vessel before 1880 when he immigrated into the USA though Buffalo. There were 3 girls: Christina married Alex Finley a sergeant ( US spelling) in the British Medical Corps and moved to England. (I now correspond with her granddaughter who lives in New Zealand);,Margaret moved to Cambridge and married had two children and died there; Sarah moved to Cambridge and died there unmarried. bob gillis
