Your kindness and caring will not be forgotten! Nancy and Alan McGuffie David Phillip Bungay, Halifax - David Bungay, 59, of Sydney passed away Thursday, March 12, 2009, at the Halifax Infirmary. He was the son of the late Raymond and Jessie (Hardy) Bungay. David was a member of Christ Church and was retired from EDS. He was a graduate of St. FX University, Antigonish, in May 1973. David is survived by his brother, Raymond (Carolyn), Saint John; niece, Janice Bungay, Ottawa; nephews, Arthur (Heather) Bungay, Saint John, Donald (Chris) Bungay, Little Hocking, Ohio, USA; and several great nephews and a great niece. Special thanks to Bryan (Diane) MacDonald for all of their help and assistance over the years. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sydney Memorial Chapel with Rev. May Loretta Cambridge, Whitney Pier at Sydney , Nova Scotia , Canada - It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who passed away at home on Friday, March 13, 2009, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Violet and Gus King. May was a member of Holy Redeemer Church, Sydney. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed attending bingo with her bingo buddies at St. Philip's Church. May will be forever remembered and loved by her three children whom she loved and adored Karl (Cleo), Jerome and Darlene. She is also survived by her sisters, Ella (King) Axworthy, Dorothy (King) English; and a brother, Ed, all of Sydney; her five grandchildren, Corey, Chase, Elissa, Theo and Brianna and two great-grandchildren, D'Andre, Jamila, who were the love of her life. She was predeceased by three brothers, John, Fred and Gerald King. There will be no visitation as cremation has already taken place. The funeral service to celebrate her life will take place Wednesday, March 18 at Holy Redeemer Church 11 a.m. with Rev. Errol MacDonald officiating. Audrey Jane Fitzgerald, Dingwall at Neil's Harbour , Nova Scotia , Canada - Audrey Jane Fitzgerald, 69, of Dingwall passed away at Buchanan Memorial Hospital on March 14, 2009. Born at Neil's Harbour, she was the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Seymour) Ashford. She was a member of St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Neil's Harbour. She is survived by her husband, Caleb (Kelly); sons, Paul (Laurlee), Johnnie (Shauna), Scott (Kim), Troy (Stacy), all of Dingwall; sisters, Jessie Maidment, Glace Bay, Joyce (Gerald) Warren, Ingonish, Ruby (Sinclair) MacLeod, Dingwall, Lois (Lloyd) Lamey, Neil's Harbour; brothers, Dave (Lenora) Ashford and Donald (Louise) Ashford, all of Neil's Harbour. Online condolences may be sent to the family at fillmoreandwhitman@ns.symaptico.ca Mr. William (Bill) Huestis, Halifax Born in 18/09/1916 at Glace Bay , Nova Scotia , Canada - William Lemeul (Bill) Huestis, 92, passed away March 13, 2009, at the Camp Hill Veteran Memorial Hospital, Halifax. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Born Sept. 18, 1916, in Glace Bay, he was the eldest son of Clifford Grant and Ethel (Matthews) Huestis. He was a member of the Morrison Glace Bay High School rugby team as well as the Caledonia Intermediate rugby team. During the 1950s he was secretary of the Glace Bay minors hockey team. He loved baseball and was an avid fan of the Toronto Blue Jays. He was a member of Knox United Church in Glace Bay and a member of Glace Bay Legion Branch #3. He was awarded the Queens Anniversary Medal and the Legion Meritorious Medal. He was a veteran of the Second World War and served with the RCAF 404 Buffalo Squadron, and completed two tours in the Shetland Islands. After the war he worked for the Caledonia Power Board as an electrician. In 1960, he accepted a position as provincial secretary treasurer, Nova Scotia Command Royal Canadian Legion in Halifax where he worked until he retired in 1977. He enjoyed watching the Parliamentary channel on television and loved to debate politics. He was predeceased by his first wife, Lily Broadbent, second wife, Mable Withrow, brothers, Roland and Gordon and sons, William Arthur and Kent. He is survived by his children, Dawn Anne, Ruby (Ray) Tulley, Roger (Elaine), Carol (George) Cann, Barry (Linda), Terry (Helen); 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Tonya Nicole Kelly-Lepe, Calgary Born in 10/10/1975 at Gander , Newfoundland , Canada - Tonya Nicole Kelly-Lepe 33 passed away peacefully at the Agape Hospice in Calgary, Alberta surrounded by her loving family on March 9, 2009, after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was a stay-at-home mom, an avid reader and enjoyed caring for her grandchildren. She loved the outdoors and was a loving and devoted wife. George Summers, Georges River at Toronto , Ontario , Canada - It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of George Gerard Summers, 70, a resident of Scotch Lake Road, Georges River on Sunday, March 15, 2009, at his home following a short, but courageous battle with cancer. Born in Toronto, Ont., George was the son of Lucille (Rodden) Summers of Scarborough and of the late George Summers Sr. of Glasgow Scotland. He was an electrician by trade and he also owned and operated a power wash company for a number of years until his retirement. George moved to Cape Breton 19 years ago and loved living here on the island, he was an avid gardener, loved to cook, to tell jokes and was always willing to give a neighbour a helping hand. He was a member of St. Joseph Church, Bras d'Or. Surviving besides his mother is his wife, Sylvia (Beaton) Summers; his children, Ted (Leslee) Willems, Milton, Ont., Wendy (Scott) Bennett, New Market, Jack (Jill) Summers, Brampton; a stepson, Christopher Peddle, Brampton; daughter-in-law, Nancy Willems, Brampton, Ont.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barb (Jim) Smith, Scarborough, and Ellen (Vic) Robinson, Mississauga, Ont.; also a number of nieces and nephews, and his special friend, Brian Jessome.
