Nagy, Ronald 'Pudgy' - published Beatrice Andrews, North Sydney at Perlican , Newfoundland , Canada - It is with great sadness we announce the death of our dear mother, grandmother and sister, Beatrice Andrews, age 86, a resident of Taigh Solas and formerly of Leitches Creek, on Sunday, March 22, 2009 at the Northside General Hospital. Born in New Perlican, Nfld., Beatrice was the daughter of the late George and Eliza Smith. She is survived by one daughter, Darlene, North Sydney and one son, Edward John 'Eddie', Halifax; three grandsons, E.J., Julian and Kyle and one great-grandson Tyler; her loving sister, Margaret MacDonald, Sydney; several nieces and nephews. Beatrice will be missed by long time friends, Hughie and Lucy O'Handley, Glen and Mary Forrest, Donnie and Delores Davis, Frank Smith and Clara Beaton. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward John Andrews and her brother, Melvin Smith. Visitation for Beatrice will be held from 10-11 a.m. Thursday with funeral service following at 11 a.m. in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney, with Rev. Ms. Margaret 'Marggy' Cox, Sydney Born in 11/07/1927 at Sydney , Nova Scotia , Canada - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a great lady, Marggy Cox in her 82nd year at Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility. Marggy worked at Woolco for many years and retired just before the name was changed to Walmart. She was a well liked person who seemed to get along with almost everyone with whom she came in contact. She will be remembered for her love of music, dancing and especially her family - her greatest love. She loved the times she spent with all of her 10 brothers and sisters; especially Sara who was her best friend. Marggy leaves behind her three children, whom she loved dearly, Billy Alberta, Michele, New Brunswick and Donald, Sydney, N.S. She is also survived by her sister, Sara and two grandchildren, Samantha and Andrew, both of Alberta, whom she loved very much. She was predeceased by brothers, Fr. Neil, John, Al, Donald, Gordie; sisters, Nora, Mary, Veronica and Gladys. Marggy will be missed by all the friends she made while living in Harbourstone Enhanced Care, where she was given the greatest care in the last years of her life. We would like to thank all the great nurses and LPNs of Miner's Lane for all the great care and kindness that you have shown mom; she thought the world of you all. We know she's dancing up a storm with that big smile and the big bellowing laugh that we all loved and cherished. "We love you mom, you will be in our thoughts the rest of our days." Samuel 'Shike' Goldman, Vancouver Born in 11/05/1915 at Glace Bay , Nova Scotia , Canada - Samuel 'Shike' Goldman, born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia on May 11, 1915. Veteran of the Second World War, father of nine, died quietly in his sleep on Friday, March 20, 2009 in Vancouver, B.C. He was a devoted son of the late Charles and Chillie (Epstein) Goldman, Glace Bay. He was predeceased by his late siblings, Alex, Nathan and infant brother, Willie; sister, Esther, New York. He is survived by sisters, Molly, Montreal and Dorothy, New York; children, Charlie, Esther, Nancy, Cathie, David, Philip (with whom he'd lived for the past 15 years), Connie, John and Max. On his return from overseas, he operated a successful salvage business, expanding to his own long haul trucking company. He moved to Halifax, where he operated the last kosher butcher shop in Nova Scotia. He retired to Vancouver, B.C. to be in the company of his loving children. His was a colourful life. Whether high or low, it was always big. He inspired great passion in all his children and will be missed very much, while remaining an important topic of both familial conversations and memories. Norman MacIntyre, Sydney at Sydney Mines , Nova Scotia , Canada - Norman MacIntyre, age 74, of Sydney Mines, passed away on March 20, 2009, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Sydney Mines, he was the son of the late James and Annie (MacLean) MacIntyre. He was a member of Carman United Church and a former employee of the old #3 colliery in Florence. He was also a former member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 008, Sydney Mines. He is survived by his son, Norman Jr. (April), Sydney Mines; his former wife, Loretta Jessome; sisters, Naomi MacDonald, North Sydney, Liz Axeworthy, Florence, Effie MacLean, Sydney Mines, Tena (Wallie) Gracie, Alder Point, Margie Wall, Sydney, Sharon (Vince) Garnier, North Sydney, Billie (Sue), Halifax and Norman Rigby, Winnipeg. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Norman Thomas, Kaitlyn Dominica, Nicholas and Tanya. He was predeceased by his daughter, Norma Ann; by brothers, Kenneth and Angus and his sister, Katherine Marks. There will be no visitation by request. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 27, 2009 at 2 p.m. in the Fillmore and Whitman Funeral Home officiated by Pearl Miller. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery. Ronald 'Pudgy' Nagy, Halifax - It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Pudgy Nagy, age 56, in Halifax, on March 23, 2009. Formerly of Sydney, he was the son of the late Theresa (Baldin) and John Nagy. He is survived by wife, Joan; brother, Barry; stepchildren, Terry (Donna), Kim (Tom), Kelly (James); grandchildren, Stephanie, Michelle, Grace, Caleigh, Aubrey and Gillian; nieces, Stephanie and Sarah Nagy, Halifax; grandnieces and grandnephews; as well as aunts, uncles and cousins in Sydney.
