Jaques, Wilson - published Vivian Burke, Sydney at Sydney , Nova Scotia , Canada - It is with deep regret and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Vivian C. Burke on March 24, 2009, in Sydney, after a lengthy illness. Born in Sydney, Vivian was the beloved daughter of the late Margaret Alice Elizabeth and Donald Morrison. For over five decades she practised nursing in Sydney, finally retiring from the Cove Guest Home, although her first love was working in the private sector where her expertise was greatly sought after. Vivian is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Roy F. Burke; two sons, James and Donald and one daughter, Margaret. In life Vivian was a woman of many interests, she was an experienced outdoorswoman, as well as a prolific artist, with a voracious love of literature. She also possessed a rapier wit and fine intellect. Above all, Vivian was known for her unmatched beauty throughout her life. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. George Campbell, New Waterford at New Waterford , Nova Scotia , Canada - It is with sadness that we announce the sudden passing of George Victor Campbell, 53, at home on March 24, 2009. Born in New Waterford, George was the son of Dorothy (Woodland) Campbell and the late George Campbell. His family moved to the United States when George was a child. He worked as a truck driver until he retired due to health reasons. He returned to New Waterford where he made many friends who will miss him. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy, Hudson, N.H.; brothers, Gary and Grant, Ontario, Guy, California; sisters, Gail (Mrs. John Costello), Hudson, N.H., Gloria (Mrs. Darren Peters), New Glasgow, N.S.; niece, Stephanie and nephews, Joshua, John, Matthew and Glen. George was predeceased by his father, George; brothers, Glen, Gordon and a sister, Glenda. Cremation has taken place under the direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. There will be no visitation or funeral service by request. Wilson Jaques, Lindsay at Sydney Mines , Nova Scotia , Canada - We sadly announce the sudden death of Wilson Jaques at Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay, Ont. His sudden passing occurred on Friday, March 13, 2009 in his 77th year. He graduated from Sydney Mines High School and attended Acadia College. He settled in Toronto where he was employed until his retirement. Wilson was the son of the late Thomas Jaques and Alice (Daniels) Jaques of Sydney Mines. Wilson was the beloved husband of Jean (Howitt) Jaques of Fenelon Falls; dear father of Neil Marshman (Martine) and grandfather of Toby and Guy of England, loving grandfather of Sandra, Staley and Manlel (Julie) Strachan and great grandfather of Alexander James; father-in-law of Mary Strachan; brother-in-law of Jack Howitt, the late Marlene Howitt, Bill and his wife Jill Howitt; brother of George (June) Jaques, North Sydney, Tommy (Mytle), New Germany. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by brothers, Joseph, Tommy, William (Wick) and Ellis (Babe) and by a sister Margaret. Lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews, family and friends.
