Elizabeth ________________________ FRAMINGHAM Rita (Hayes) Connors, 104, a resident of St. Patricks Manor, Framingham, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, at St. Patricks Manor. She was born on the family farm in Derry Ennistymon, Ireland, in 1904. She was the second of nine children born to Martin and Mary (Kelley) Hayes. Rita met and married Edward W. Connors in Boston. Mr. Connors occupation led them from Boston to several parts of the country, ending his career with many years as traffic bureau chief for the headquarters of the Associated Press in New York City. Mr. Connors died in 1984. Along the way they had two sons and a daughter, Edward W. Connors Jr. of Sudbury, the late John M. Connors and Marie Modic of Scotia, N.Y, She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Kathleen Scott of Central Point, Ore. A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, Feb. 28, at 9:30 a.m., at St. Patricks Manor, 863 Central St., Framingham. Friends may call at the Manor from 8:15 a.m. until the time of the service.
