Moores, Robert 'Bobby' L - published February 26, 2009 ___________________________________________________________________________ Evelyn Campbell, Sydney Born in 04/01/1948 at Sydney Mines , Nova Scotia , Canada - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and friend, Evelyn Grace (Nelson) Campbell on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Sydney Mines on January 4, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Una (Foote) Nelson. Evelyn attended the Salvation Army, and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Auxiliary, Branch 008, Sydney Mines. Evelyn was a loving mother, grandmother and a wonderful friend. She was always there to lend an ear or helping hand to anyone in need. She gave us all her unconditional love. Evelyn is survived by her former husband, Douglas Campbell; son, Blaine (Michelle); daughters, Julie Ann and Natalie (Bobby) and her grandchildren, T.J. Marsh, Morgan Harris and Curtis and Kelsey LeBlanc. She is also survived by sisters, Mary Nelson, Mildred (Brian) Keeping, Marion Gerrow and Winnie (Clevey) Hollett; a brother, Bobby Nelson and many nieces and nephews and their families who were very dear to her heart. Evelyn is also survived by dear friends, Eileen Lewis and Dollsie Jessome. Special thanks to Christine Gerrow for everything she has done over the years. Besides her parents, Evelyn was predeceased by brothers, Willis, Charlie, James, Earl and sisters, Margaret, Pauline and Una in infancy. Visitation for Evelyn Campbell will be held in the J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines, on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate her life will take place on Sunday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Major Daniel Roode officiating. Cyril passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late Patrick and Bride (Brophy) Crawley. He was a devoted member of St. Nicholas and Holy Redeemer parishes, Whitney Pier. In his younger days, Cy loved fishing and hunting and was one of the founders of the Whitney Pier Fish and Game Association. He was an avid reader. Cy was well known throughout Cape Breton Island in the auto paint industry. During his lifetime, he worked at Maritime Leathers, Scotia Distributors and Sydney Auto Parts where he retired from in 1993. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, the former Jean Gillis; three sons, John (Angelina); Allan (Janice) and Randy (Cathy), all of Sydney; three sisters, Maime (Teddy) Libby, Mira; Germain Makaranko, North Bay, Ont., Patricia Crawley, Sydney; two brothers, Ron, Sydney and Terry, Mira; two grandsons, Shaun (Jessica), Haliburton, Ont.; David, Sydney and granddaughter, Meggan, Sydney. He was predeceased by two brothers, Albert and Bill. There will be no visitation. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Church with Rev. Errol MacDonald officiating. A reception will follow at St. Nicholas Hall on Gatacre Street, Whitney Pier. Cys family would like to thank all those who helped in any way. Born in Glace Bay, February 26, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Sadie MacNeil. She is survived by brothers, Mike, Jerry, Gordon, Ronald and Joseph; sisters, Mary, Joan and Jeanette. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Eric and Danny and a sister, Evelyn. No visitation. Interment service at a later date. (Retired) Robert Laughlin Moores, passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer on February 16, 2009. Born in Glace Bay, N.S. to parents Clarence and Mary Moores. Loving husband and best friend of Gertrude (MacNeil) married 43 years; cherished, father of Mary, Sue, Roberta, (John). Brother of Rose Garland, Clary and Al (Rosealie) all of Glace Bay, N.S. Predeceased by his loving parents, Clarence Charlie and Mary and his brother, John Jook. Lovingly remembered also by the Waddens, MacNeils and Claybournes. A special thank you to the staff at both Campus of (L.H.S.C.) including Dr. Diane Logan. Visitation was held at Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel, 1997 Dundas Street, East on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009. Funeral service was held in the chapel on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009.
