Cape Breton Deaths February 05, 2009 Thursday Inga Hunson 87, Sydney - Inga Whilimina Hunson, 87, a resident of Harbourstone Enhanced Care, formerly of Coxheath Road, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, at Harbourstone. Born in Canso, she was the daughter of the late John and Marion (Roberts) Matthews. Inga was a former member of St. Mark's Anglican Church, Coxheath, and the Anderson ACW Group. Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Russell; daughter, Vicki (Dr. Harold) Molyneaux, Summerside, P.E.I.; grandchildren, Lynn, Kenny, Kevin, Heather, Greg, David, Waylon and Shelly; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Inga was the last surviving member of her family, being predeceased by her sisters, Elsie Booth, Marion Hunson, Doris Flett and Edith Davis and brothers, Nelson, Robert, Donald and John. Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel, Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Church of Christ the King, Saturday 2 p.m., with Rev. Fred Rhymes officiating. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Palliative Care or the Alzheimer's Society. Born and living her life in Whitney Pier, Rosella was the loving daughter of the late Wilfred and Mary Agnes (Aucoin) French. Rosella worked at Harshman's Drug Store and Pollett Drug Store, later retiring from The Pier Pharmasave. Rosella touched the lives of so many people throughout her life. The people who knew her loved her for her kindness and thoughtfulness. She will be dearly missed by her brother, Bernie and his wife, Anne Marie, Sydney River. She was a loving aunt to Bernie, Kingston, Ont., Donna (Steve) Quinn, Sydney Forks, Steven (Laura), Mississauga, Ont. and she will always have a place in their hearts. She will always be treasured by her grandnephews and niece, Christopher, Matthew, Brandon and Kylee. She will be sadly missed by her special friends, Zita White and Florence Stewart. Visitation for the late Rosella Marie French will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, Whitney Pier, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church Street), Thursday, Feb. 5 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Rosella's life will be held at Holy Redeemer Church, Friday, Feb. 6 at 2 p.m. with Fr. Born in Scotch Lake, Alex was the son of the late John R. and Mary (McBride) Stamper. He was a member of St. Joseph parish, Bras d'Or. He was also a member of the Labourers Local 92, Edmonton, Alta. Alex enjoyed good music and a little step in the company of great friends and family. Alex is survived by his companion, Gail McCormick; his sons, Shane, Shawn and John Alex; daughters, Melanie, P.J. and Leanne; stepson, John; stepdaughters, Bonnie, Karen, and Stephanie; and grandchildren, Ashlea, Kristen, Shelby, Ceilidh, Hailey and Cody. Also surviving are his brothers, Johnny (Pat), Blair (Shirley) and sisters, Kitty (Sid), Noel, Bridie (Michael), Marlene, Theresa, Linda (Lloyd), Johnenna, Frankie and Anna (Earl); many nieces and nephews; and brother-in-law, Buddy Currie. Besides his parents, Alex was predeceased by his sisters, Sally, Jean, Angela and brother, Jimmy. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. A funeral mass celebrating his life will be held Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, at 2 p.m. in St. Joseph Church, Bras d'Or, with Fr. Peter MacLeod officiating. Predeceased by her loving husband, Edward, her brother, John and her grandson, Barry Mark. Dear mother of Nell, Shirley (Ron), Stephen (Joyce), Margaret, Raylene (Bruce) and Sandy (Mamik). Cherished grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Sister of Margaret (Junior). Ellen will be missed by her many nephews and nieces. Remembered for her 50 years of service with the Catholic Women's League. She dedicated many hours volunteering and visiting with the sick and elderly. She was an enthusiastic member of the craft and quilting guilds for many years and she was an avid bridge player. Ellen is resting at the Morse & Son Chapel of the Morgan Funeral Homes, 5917 Main St., where her family will receive friends Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Vigil will be held at the funeral home Thursday afternoon at 3:30. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas More Church, Friday morning at 11 o'clock. Cremation to follow with an interment planned for the spring. Connie is survived by her son, Rob North (Barbara); daughter, Susan Hill (Jamie); stepsons, Allan Jost (Rosemary), Robyn Jost and Philip Jost (Sandra). She had five grandchildren, and several step-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her first husband, Walter North and her second husband, Allan Jost. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She leaves behind many dear friends. She will be sadly missed. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
