Her obituary: Source: The Cape Breton Post Published: Monday, February 17, 1969 Page 5 Bras d'Or -- One of the oldest residents of Cape Breton. Mrs. Jessie Jessome, 99, of Rural Route No. 1, Bras d'Or, died Saturday at her home. She had lived here the greater part of her life and enjoyed the esteem of many friends, all of whom will regret to learn of her death. Born at Margaree, she was a daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Coakley. Her husband Patrick died in 1934. A member of St. Joseph's Parish, she is survived by three daughters: Annie, Mrs. Ben Ross of Florence; Loretta, Mrs. William LeBlanc, Millville; and Regis, Mrs. Walter Day, here; and five sons: John of Florence; Patrick and Everett of Millville; William Hilbert of Bras d'Or; and Jackie, in Ontario; also one sister: Mrs. Katie Richie in the United States. Her body is resting at the George R. Francis Funeral Home, Main Street, Sydney Mines, from where the funeral will be held Tuesday morning in time for Requiem Mass, at 8:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church. Interment will be in the Parish Cemetery. Jessie's parents were John and Bridget -- I am seeking information on Bridget. Thank you.
