Simone Roach - 93 yrs Henry MacLeod - 86 yrs George Reginald 'Reggie' Bona Born In: North Sydney Passed on: July 2nd, 2016 Photo & Dooley’s logo BONA, George Reginald ‘Reggie’ North Sydney With heavy hearts we regret to announce the passing of a dear father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend, Reg Bona, age 72, on Saturday, July 2, 2016. Born in North Sydney, he was the son of Thelma (White) Bona and the late Victor Bona. Reg worked as a forklift operator for Dominion Glass of Hamilton, Ont. He returned home to North Sydney following an accident that left Reg with some impairments. His disabilities did not stop him from giving & caring for others. He was a strong willed, kind and gentle guy with a great sense of humour. We loved him dearly, he will be missed. He loved second hand shops, flea markets and yard sales. He couldn’t wait to share his treasures with those he loved. You knew he had a good day when you would see him coming with his wheel chair loaded down. Always a wave and a smile for everyone! Reg is survived by his mother, Thelma; a son, Reginald White and granddaughter, Abigail, Ontario; seven sisters, Sylvia Reynolds and Betty Power (Pat Basker), both of North Sydney, Jeannie Reid (Chuck), Ontario, Midge Jones, California, Brenda Van Snick (Gary), New Brunswick, Yvonne (Terry Allen), Georges River, Elaine (Roddie Gerrow), Ironville; two brothers, Joe (Linda) and Jim (Marlene), both of Barrachois Harbour; brother-in-law, Reg MacDonald (Linda) also of Barrachois Harbour. Reg is also survived by his good friend, Bud Hardy. Besides his father, Victor, he was predeceased by his paternal and maternal grandparents, brothers, Stevie and Johnny; a sister, Marina and a sister in infancy, Marlene; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Power and Richard Jones. The family wish to extend heartfelt thanks to his sister Betty and Pat Basker for the unending care, support and love they provided for Reggie, we are truly grateful. Also, special thanks to the excellent care provided by his home care workers. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 9 – 11 a.m. Wednesday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 6 in the funeral home with Rev. Patrick O’Neill officiating. Burial will follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney. Memorial donations may be made to the Cape Breton Cancer Society. Born in Halifax, Reg was the son of Gladys (Madower) and the late John ‘Gunner’ Henry Axworthy. Reg was a hard worker for he was an appliance repairman for many years. He loved the outdoors especially, hunting and fishing with his best friend and father, John ‘Gunner’. Reg will be missed by all who knew him. Reg is survived by his mother, Gladys; brothers, Francis (Mary), John (Marian); and niece, Cassandra. He is also survived by his cousin and best friend, Gerald ‘Smurf’ Axworthy. Besides his father, Reg was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Ann. Cremation has taken place and a private family gathering to celebrate the life of Reg Axworthy will take place at a later date. (Baxendale) Sibley Born In: Toronto, Ontario, Canada Born: February 6th, 1967 Passed in: North Sydney Passed on: July 1st, 2016 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved wife, daughter, sister, stepmother, niece and friend, Tracey L. Baxendale Sibley, age 49, on Friday July 1, 2016, at home. Tracey was born Feb. 6, 1967 in Toronto, Ont., she was the daughter of Marie (Salaptsis) Baxendale and of the late Paul Baxendale. She was employed for a number of years as a crossing guard with Cape Breton Regional Municipality. Tracey is survived by her husband, Pierre Sibley; her mother, Marie Baxendale; sister, Cheryl (Sheldon) LeFrense; stepsons, Johnathan and Logan; nephew, Cohen; aunts, Brenda (Gordie) Reynolds and Chrissy (Brian) Fox. She will also be missed by her lifelong friends, Lisa and Kim; by her fur babies, Fluffy, Kitty, Mitsy 1, Precious and Mitsy 2. Besides her father, Paul Baxendale; Tracey was predeceased by a sister, Brenda. Visitation will be held 1-3 p.m. Tuesday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney, a prayer service of remembrance will follow at 3 p.m., with Marjorie Serafinus officiating. Lenard 'Len' Peter Timmerman Born In: Glace Bay Born: October 30th, 1940 Passed in: Barrie, Ontario, Canada With saddened hearts we announce the passing of Lenard ‘Len’ Peter Timmerman, of Barrie, Ont. Born in Glace Bay, N.S., Oct. 30, 1940; the son of Josephine (nee Mortz) and John Timmerman. In 1961, he married Muriel Wrice, and served three years in the militia. He went on to become a tradesman, working in the sheet metal industry for 50 years, Local 30. Len owned several companies and was highly respected as a senior estimator in his field. Len began his new journey with a golf tee, a guitar pick and a pen in his pocket - those who knew him know these were his passions: golf, music and drawing up plans to build new things. Over the years, he jammed with his band The Hawkes (later Rebound), and many others. He lived athletically, and his awards for golf, baseball and bowling are numerous. Len will be sorrowfully missed by his wife, Muriel; children, Leonard 'Tim' (Linda), Marlene Kane (Gerard), Linda Young (Mike), and Leanne, all of Barrie, Ont.; grandchildren, Rick, Chris, Nicole, Cassie, Andrew, Briana, Matthew, Samantha, Kimberly, Daniel, Iris, Tamara; great-grandchildren, Daphney, Grace, Jack, and greatly anticipated Jaxon. Len was predeceased by siblings, John (Helen), Francis Boudreau (Leo), Mary McDonald (Dan) and Emma Carrigan (Dan).
