Donovan - 84 yrs Terrance Murdock White - 68 yrs Lynora Christina Walcott - Murray Billard Born In: Grand Bruit NFLD Passed in: Sydney NS Passed on: July 12th, 2016 We, the family, regret to announce the passing of our wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend Murray Billard, age 90, on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at the An Cala Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Murray always loved to tell his tales of growing up in Newfoundland, his times in Neil’s Harbour, North Sydney and Glace Bay. From fishing in a dory at age 12 to his many years of working at National Sea Products in Louisbourg. While working in Louisbourg, he met and fell in love with his wife, Colleen McMullin. Together they made Louisbourg their home, made many friends and raised their family. Anyone who knew Murray, knew how much he always loved his car and spent many hours parked in old town or in front of the bank taking in the scenery. Murray was born in Grand Bruit, Nfld. The eldest child of Wallace and Julia (Hatcher) Billard. Besides his parents, Murray was predeceased by his only son, Russell; his brothers, Cecil and Russell; his in-laws, Allan and Remegus ‘Midi’ McMullin and many brothers and sisters-in-law. Left to mourn are his wife of almost 60 years, Colleen; his daughter, Lisa; son-in-law, John Duffy and his grandson, Shane MacIntyre. Also surviving are his brothers, Allan (Betty), Carbonear, Nfld., Sidney (Mary) Cornerbrook, Nfld., and his sister, Amy (John) Rose, Ottawa, Ont.; sisters-in-law, Polly Tighe, Verna Petrie, Aileen Burchell and Velma (Jimmy) Dawson, as well as nieces and nephews. Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2016 at Stella Maris Parish, Louisbourg, with Fr. Jonathan officiating. Reception to follow in church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of… GEORGE DONOVAN Born In: North Sydney Born: October 6th, 1931 Passed in: North Sydney Passed on: July 12th, 2016 It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of George Ambrose Donovan, age 84, father, grandfather and great-grandfather on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at the Northside General Hospital. Born in North Sydney on Oct. 6, 1931, George was the son of the late William and Sarah (Wellman) Donovan. George was a veteran of the Korean War. He was employed for many years as a furnace serviceman with Irving and then later with AAA Heating. He loved animals, especially cats and was a frequent visitor at Tim Hortons enjoying his early morning coffee with his friends. He is survived by his son, Joe (Anna) Donovan, North Sydney; three grandchildren, Tracey (Bob), Kelowna, Lisa (Jean Marc), Cole Harbour and Sean, at home; five great-grandchildren, Josh, Tristin, Owen, Angus and Jack and his sister, Violet Young, North Sydney. He will be missed by his Tim Horton buddies, Charlie Taylor, Peter MacLean and Earl MacKinnon. Besides his parents, George was predeceased by his wife, Rhoda (Yorke) Donovan; his brother, William Donovan and sister, Kay Buchanan. A funeral service for George will be held 11 a.m. Friday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney with Rev. Patrick O’Neill officiating. Terrance White Born In: New Waterford Passed in: Sydney Passed on: July 11th, 2016 It is with broken hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of our wonderful father, grand-father, great-grandfather, brother and uncle, Terrance Murdock White, 68. He went very peacefully to his rest on Monday, July 11 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by his love ones. Born in New Waterford, he was the son of the late Murdock and Annie (MacLellan) White. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his wife, Sheila (MacIsaac) White; daughter, Joanne White; brothers, Jackie and Freddie White; uncle and good buddy, Jimmy MacLellan; father and mother-in-law, Walter and Josephine MacIsaac; sister-in-law, Annette MacLellan; brother-in-law, Ray MacIsaac. Left to mourn Terrance’s great loss are son, John (Alexis) White; grandchildren, Glenn (Keila), Johnny, Jessie; special grandsons, Anthony and Mark (Brittany); great-grandsons, Michael and Jacob. Terrance is also survived by sisters, Cathy Chiasson, Diane Copan (Bryan), Eileen White (Doug), Helen (Art) Frost; brothers, Wayne White (Cecilia), Joe (Carol) White; brothers-in-law, Lennie (Judy) MacIsaac, Frank MacIsaac; special friend, Mary Doyle; good buddy, Paulie MacNeil, as well as many nieces, nephew, cousins, and friends. Terrance worked as a coal miner in 26, 12, and Lingan collieries and also served as a draegerman for a while. He had a fun loving way about him and his witty sayings could boost your spirits, as well as his humorous dress-up for fun occasions. His greatest passion was sharing time with his family, to whom he was dearly devoted. His very generous heart and his door were always open to everyone. Terrance enjoyed the simple pleasures in life such as country music, a “cold one” on his patio swing, anything made with coconut, his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs and CNN. A country boy at heart, he enjoyed regular vacations and visits to his “happy place”, his summer residence in Deepdale (Inverness). If you were lucky enough to be loved by Terrance, you were lucky enough. He was a member of the former St. Agnes Parish. Terrance was also a member of the New Waterford Fish and Game Association and also New Waterford Pensioners Club. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 15, 2016, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A chapel service will take place on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 10 a.m. with Deacon Leo Penny officiating. Interment will be held at St. Agnes Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the parish hall, Convent Street, all are welcome. Rest in peace Terrance, we will miss you forever. “A day in the country is worth a week in town” Lynora Christina Walcott Passed on: July 10th, 2016 Phenomenal mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, beloved sister, loving aunt, and cherished friend, joined her husband George Edward ‘Sonny’ in God’s loving embrace early Sunday morning July 10th, 2016. Celebrating Lynora’s legacy of tremendous strength and devotion are her children, Joseph (Elaine), Gerald, of Halifax, Georgina (David), Rita, of Glace Bay and Charlotte (Calvin) of Calgary; grandchildren, Preston, Christopher, Damon, Justin, Rebecca, and Nadera; great-grandchildren, Dominic, Albany, Tyler, Mise'l, Viennah and Adrianna. Remembering their one and only loving sister are amazing brothers, Garfield (Louise) Moe, Sydney, Jerome (Pat) Moe of Toronto, Grenfell ‘Babes’ (Georgina) Moe of Sydney and Gerald (Paula) Moe of Toronto. Along with treasured brother-in-law, Edward (Laura) Parris and sister-in-law, Sarah Hayward of Sydney. Lynora was predeceased by her parents, Preston and Dorothy Moe and great-grandson, Lodune Shelley. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, July 16, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Anglican Church, Glace Bay. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery.
