Born in Antigonish, he was a son of the late Donald Vincent and Mary Florence (MacDougall) MacEachern. Ralph spent his early years working as a lobster fisherman and the last 20 years working with Scott Vac Septic Services. He had a great love for animals and will be remembered as a kind and generous man. He is survived by his sister Mary C. “Tootsie” Gavel, Antigonish; brothers Angus A. MacEachern, Port Hawkesbury; Donald V. “Buster” MacEachern, Craigmore; Robert A. MacEachern, Antigonish; David F. MacEachern and Malcolm G. MacEachern, both of Craigmore. Ralph will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews. Ralph was predeceased by brother Bernie MacEachern and sister-in-law Donna of Saint John, New Brunswick, brother-in-law Edward Gavel, Antigonish and sister-in-law Susan MacEachern. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Green’s Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. There will be no visitation; private family services will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Strait Richmond Palliative Care. MacFARLANE Kay (MacDonald) MacFarlane, 89, formerly of North York, Ontario, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Sunday, June 26th, 2016, in Newmarket, Ontario. She was the daughter of Angus (the Carpenter) and Christine (MacDonnell) MacDonald of Judique. She is survived by daughters Cathy (Ron), Joanne (Dave); son John (Karen); brothers Johnny (Hammonds Plains), Lawrence (Judique) and Sister Edna CSM (Bethany, Antigonish). She will be sadly missed by her 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Richard, son Jimmy, brothers Archie Joe, Alex Hughie, Dan Tom; sisters Sadie, Anne (Smith), Christine (Evans) and Florence (Felix). Visitation was held at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge St., Toronto, Ontario on Wednesday, June 29th. Funeral Mass was held at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 17955 Leslie St., Newmarket, on Thursday, June 30th. MacLENNAN It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Katherine Ellen MacLennan (nee Coady) on Saturday, June 25th, 2016, in Inverary Manor, Inverness, NS. Katherine was born in Southwest Margaree on October 2nd, 1926, to the late Peter and Rebecca Coady. Dear mother of Anne (late Richard), Mississauga, Ontario; Alexander (Maureen), Ottawa, Ontario; and Catherine, Halifax. Katherine was also grandmother of Caeleigh and Shaughna, Mississauga, Ontario. She was predeceased by her husband Colin Francis MacLennan, and brother John A. Coady. She is survived by her sisters Jessie Tompkins and Margaret MacLellan, as well as many nieces and nephews. She left Margaree at an early age to get her teaching credentials then teach in Nova Scotia. While teaching in Truro she met her husband Colin, also a teacher. They were married in New York, NY. She worked in New York, lived in Montreal, St. Jean, Halifax, Ottawa, and Inverness. She loved music, flowers, and was a talented painter. She will be sadly missed by family and friends. Visitation was held at the Inverness Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 28th. Father Bernie MacDonald officiated the funeral Mass at Stella Maris Catholic Church in Inverness on Wednesday, June 29th. The body will be interred at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Southwest Margaree. MacNEIL Bryan Raymond MacNeil, age 53, of Breton Ability Center, Sydney and formerly of Cheticamp, died July 2nd, 2016, in Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Toronto, Ont., he was a son of Raymond and Dorothy “Dolly” (Deveau) MacNeil. He is survived by sister, Maureen Craig, Parkhill, Ont.; many uncles and aunts. His body has been donated to the Advancement of Medical Education and Research, Dalhousie University, Halifax.
