Born in Mabou, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Katherine (Doyle) Beaton. She was a member of St. Michael's Church, Margaree. She is survived by sons, James (Denise), Robert (Sheila), Kevin (Marie), all of Truro; daughters, Joan, Halifax; Pauline, Pembroke; Elaine, Ottawa; Marlene (Mrs. Tom Kindervater); Carol (Mrs. Jeff Douglas), both of Truro; brother, Dougald Beaton, Brook Village; sisters, Elizabeth Peterson, Frances (Mrs. Neil Cunningham), both of Alberta; eight grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald; brothers, Alexander Beaton, John Angus Beaton; sisters, Katherine Beaton, Mary Beaton. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Thursday in St. Michael's Parish hall, Margaree. Funeral 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Michael's Church, Margaree, Rev. Martin MacDougall officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to Parkinson's Foundation of Canada, Nova Scotia Division or a charity of your choice.
