Daughter of the late Catherine (MacDonald) and Joseph Allen MacNeil. She grew up in Iona, Cape Breton and was a descendant of the MacDonald family of St. Peters. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, William and daughter, Mary in infancy. They welcomed all into their home and the tea was always on. She is survived by her three children, Linda (Gerald Murphy), Wilena (Gerald Arcand) and William (Sharon); granddaughters, Alysha (Corey Kinden) and Lindsay along with the newest joy of her life great granddaughter, Alexa. Music was an important part of family life. Her brother John and wife Sheila MacNeil of Halifax were with her and her daughters on Monday at the VG hospital where they listened to the beautiful music played and sung by Erin. Marg was a faithful member of Saint John Vianney church; she ministered communion at Sagewood nursing home in Lr. Sackville. Marg was a kind giving person who instilled these qualities in her children and grandchildren. Alysha and Lindsay enjoyed baking and cooking with Nanny. There were always sweets in the tins. If you dropped by she would have a lunch on the table without you knowing it. She will be sadly missed by her many friends and extended family. All who knew her were blessed. Visitation will be held Sunday November 13 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Atlantic Funeral Home, Lr. Sackville with Funeral Services on Monday, November 14 at 1 p.m., Saint John Vianney Roman Catholic Church, reception to follow. Gladys Mary White Passed in: Sydney, Nova Scotia Passed on: November 9th, 2016 It is with broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Gladys White at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney on Wednesday, November 9, 2016. Born in Florence, Gladys one of 17 children, she was the daughter of the late William and Agnes (O’Neil) Martin. She enjoyed fishing, hunting rabbits, playing spoons, singing to the residents of the Cove Guest Home. She was a prankster and loved pulling jokes on her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by residents and staff at the home. Gladys affectionately known as ‘Gramma Newf’ is survived by her daughter, Carol MacDonald; grandchildren, Scott (Pam), Clayton, David Lloyd (Lisa) MacDonald; great grandchildren, Shanice, Brady, Makayla, Jessie, Josie, Jeffory, Morgan, Brandon, Jacob and Kelsey; great-great grandchildren, Ezekiel, Max and Zina. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of… Clifford John MacKinnon With broken hearts we, the family of Clifford MacKinnon, announce his passing on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born in Sydney he is the son of Mary MacKinnon and the late John Joe MacGillivary. Clifford was a carpenter by trade and for the last number of years worked as the Maintenance Supervisor at St. Ann’s Gaelic College. Clifford was loved by all who knew him for his kind heart and wonderful sense of humour. He loved music, friends and especially his family. Clifford had many interests and enjoyed following NASCAR, especially Matt Kenseth. Clifford held a close affinity to everything celtic; he had a love of the Gaelic language, music and of the fiddle. This affinity may be responsible for Clifford’s dry wit and love of a good tale. Besides his mother, Mary, Clifford is also survived by his loving wife, Ann Marie (MacNeil); daughters, Jade (Dennis) Gillis, Karla (Kirk) Danyluk; brother, Roderick MacGillivary and sisters, Joanne MacGillivary and Juanita (Ralph MacLean) MacGillivary. He is also survived by nephews, Ian MacGillivray, Julien Rouleau, and Samuel Rouleau. He is also survived by his cousins, Wayne MacDonald and Michael MacDonald, who were as close as siblings. Besides his father, Clifford is predeceased by his close cousins, Frances (MacDonald) Lund and Mary Ida (MacDonald) Brooks. Clifford is also predeceased by his furry best friend, Lauchie. Born in Digby, Janet was the daughter of the late Leander and Violet Handspiker. Janet is survived by her husband, Carl of 56 years, Ingonish Harbour; son, David and his wife Francene (Janet’s angel) and granddaughters, Krista (Charlie Fitzgerald) and Megan (Travis Reid) all of Neil’s Harbour; sisters, Vicki (Fred Bates), Digby and Betty Jackson, Bridgewater, along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Adelia and brothers, Jackie and David. Janet worked for many years at the Scotia Bank, Ingonish Beach Branch before retirement. Janet's “Gram” love was her granddaughters (Sunshine Butt and Chickedee) who will miss her dearly and her dog, Susie. She loved to knit and it showed in the many sweaters, mitts, etc. that her girls wore over the years. She loved to play bingo and watch games shows. Born in North Sydney on September 18, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Stella (Hynes) King. Over the years Kay worked several jobs, but none as important to her as raising her children. She was an active member/secretary of the Bras d’Or Senior’s and Pensioners Club, as well as a dedicated member of Trinity Anglican Church, Sydney Mines. She was a beautiful knitter, crafter and quilter who enjoyed her weekly ‘hen party’. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Ernie; children, Calvin (Robin) Green and Nancy (Pat) Langlois; grandchildren, Jessica, Kevin, Jack, Haeley and Kelsey and great-grandson, Ben. John Joseph MacDougall Born In: Ingonish, Nova Scotia Born: July 27th, 1946 Passed in: Sydney, Nova Scotia Passed on: November 7th, 2016 It is with heavy hearts that we regret to announce the sudden passing of John Joseph MacDougall, 70, on Monday, November 7, 2016, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born in Ingonish on July 27, 1946, he was the son of the late Tim and Elizabeth (Donovan) MacDougall. He was the oldest boy of 15 children. He enjoyed spending time with his beloved wife Rowena, as well as his children and grandchildren. He was loved by all who knew him, humans and animals alike. He was a die-hard Toronto Maple Leafs fan, and loved seeing them do better than Montreal. John is survived by his loving wife, Rowena; his daughters, June (Eric) and Charlene (Walter), as well as his son, Chris (Lovella); four step-children, Elaine (Chris), Selena, Billy and Gordon, ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, Martin (Bernice), Mark (Heather), Donald (Linda), Nick (Nina) and Dale (Nancy) and sisters, Ann (Vince), Joan (Herman), Louise (Peter), Judy (Thomas), Natalie (David), Laura and Crystal. Wayne Ashley Webber Passed on: November 4th, 2016 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a wonderful, loving husband and exceptional father, Wayne Webber, on Friday, November 4, 2016 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney with his wife Lynda by his side. Born in Halifax, he was the son of Rose Marie (Moulaison) and the late Wayne Webber. Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Lynda (Hogan) Webber; his two precious daughters, Ashley and Jillian; mother, Rose Marie Webber; brother, Philip Webber (Tammy); his mother-in-law, Lynda Murrant, as well as several aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by his father, Wayne in 2013. He previously worked in retail sales and after moving to Cape Breton he became a devoted stay at home dad to Ashley and Jillie. He enjoyed spending time with Lynda and his fun loving daughters, who brought him much love and joy, baking many kinds of cakes and cookies, teaching them how to skate, about sports, Star Wars, and shared in many adventures together.
