Born and raised in Long Point, Cape Breton, Mary was the daughter of Anne Marie (McCormick) MacEachern, of Glengarry, Ontario and the late Joseph MacEachern, Hillsdale, Judique. Mary attended Judique Creignish Consolidated High School, and then after high school moved to Ottawa and then to Toronto. It was in Toronto that Mary met the father of her children, Terry Talic, and moved to Vancouver with him, where she lived for the next 25 years. She attended the University of British Colombia, then Langara College in Vancouver where she finished her education. Mary is survived by her two children Nolan and Isabel Talic, both at home in Vancouver; her mother Anne Marie, Long Point; sisters Rita (Jerry Carter), Fort McMurray, AB; Elaine (Donnie) Nicholson, Mabou, NS; and brothers Francis (Brenda Hooper), Stamford, Connecticut; Iain (Ardi MacDonald), Long Point, NS; Bruce (Amoreena Murray), Fort McMurray, AB; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her aunts Rita McCormick, Vancouver; Yvette McCormick, Glengarry; MaryAnn McCormick, Winfield, BC; Mary McCormick, Glengarry, ON; Isabel MacEachern, Detroit, Michigan; Christine MacEachern, Detroit, Michigan; Ellen MacEachern, Hamilton, ON; and a large extended family of cousins in Canada and the United States. She is predeceased by her father Joseph MacEachern; brother Joey MacEachern; nephew Mason MacEachern; maternal grandparents Frank and Mae (MacDonnell) McCormick and paternal grandparents Simon and Mary (Mac Master) MacEachern. Mary had a brilliant mind, and had many passions in life; she loved art, music and history, especially Scottish history. She was a loyal friend, loving mother, sister and daughter. She had immense love and pride for her two children, Nolan and Isabel, whom she adored. She was great fun to be with and enjoyed a good laugh, especially with her dear childhood friends, Janet and Heather, whom she cherished. Mary was an avid reader and had an immense book collection, of which she was very protective, only lending to those who would most appreciate the literature. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service to follow this summer in Judique, Cape Breton. Donations can be made to the Central Inverness Palliative Care Society in Inverness, NS. LeBLANC Angela Marie LeBlanc (Chiasson) passed away peacefully, March 9th, 2016 with her children at her side. Angie was born in Cheticamp, Cape Breton on November 29th, 1954 and raised on Arsenault Hill in East Margaree. Angie worked in customer service in Walmart in Thomson, Manitoba for 15 years and worked with her daughter Kimberly in her day spa business. In 2007, Angie retired with her husband of 44 years to Scotch Hill and worked at Margaree Co-op. Angie had a courageous battle with cancer; she was very brave and fought a great fight up to the end. Angie loved spending time with her husband Frankie (LeBlanc) and cared for him throughout his long, courageous battle with cancer. Angie really looked forward to spending time with her best friend Faye while working at the Co-op. Angie is survived by her daughters Kimberly (Simon) and Sherri (Chris); son Mark; brothers Joey, Tommy and Kenny; and sisters Sharon and Linda. Angie was predeceased by her mother Etta Mae Woods; her father John G. Chiasson; and her brothers Bobby and Johnny. Cremation has taken place. Visitation was held in St. Michael's Church, East Margaree on Tuesday, March 15th with Funeral Mass following. Fr. Barrett Clare-Johnson officiated. Burial to take place at a later date. BARKER Born: June 4th, 1925; died: March 11th, 2016. Eileen May (Forestall) Barker, 90, passed away March 11th, 2016 at the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home. Born in New Glasgow, NS, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Cecelia Forestall. Eileen was a strong, hardworking single mother of two children: daughter Patricia MacIsaac (Gil), Troy, NS; and son Glenn Bruce (Debby), Toronto, ON. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Tracy, Darren and Michelle (Sangster); four great-grandchildren: Molly, Madilynn, Lili-Anne and Malcolm (Sangster); and two nephews and a niece, Frankie, David and Kathy (Debot). She was predeceased by sister Evelyn (Evie) Debot. Eileen was an outgoing, free spirit who loved to sing and dance to favourite musicians such as the Mills Brothers. Her quick-witted sense of humour and short temper made her both adorable and unforgettable! Eileen was a dedicated employee with the Loblaw/Dominion Grocery chain in Mississauga, ON for 30 years. At age 60, she became confined to a wheelchair as a result of severe injuries she sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Despite these challenges, Eileen continued to enjoy many happy years; a true testament to the strong, resilient woman that she was. Eileen was loved by all who knew her and will never be forgotten. A private family service in celebration of Eileen's life will be held in the coming weeks. MacLENNAN Franklyn Bernard MacLennan, age 77, passed away at home on Saturday, March 5th, 2016 in Inverness. He was born in Inverness on August 2nd, 1938 and was a son of the late Bernard and Vivian (MacMillan) MacLennan. He was a member of Stella Maris Church in Inverness. Frankie worked most of his life in Ontario before moving back home to his beloved Cape Breton. He loved to spend his time watching sports and enjoyed many hours outside in the sun doing his crossword puzzles. He was always excited around holidays and looked forward to spending quality time with all of his grandkids. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who came to know him. Frankie is survived by his children Mark (Darcy), Ontario; Brenda (Craig), Ontario; and Jody, Ontario; brother David, Inverness; sisters Donalda (Ernest), Inverness; Jean, Ontario; and Diana (Donnie), Ontario. He is also survived by grandchildren Nicole, Brandy, Jake, Tiffany, Justine, Ivana; great-grandchildren Owen, Cameron, Gavin and Jaylyn and several nieces and nephews. Frankie was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Susan (Genno) MacLennan. Visitation was held in Inverness Funeral Home on Sunday, March 13th. Funeral Mass was held on Monday, March 14th in Stella Maris Church in Inverness with Fr. Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Burial to take place at a later date.
