LeBlanc, formerly of Waltham, MA, died on Thursday, April 28th, 2016, in Harrington Hospital in Southbridge, Mass. He was 79. William Simon LeBlanc was born August 27th, 1936, in East Margaree, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada, a son of the late William Fidele (aka Willie a Monet) LeBlanc and Cecile Ida (Doucet) LeBlanc. Raised and educated in East Margaree, he graduated high school and attended Nova Scotia Agricultural College in Truro, Nova Scotia. Bill immigrated to the United States in 1957, settling in Waltham and later to Warren in 1997. He honourably served his country in the United States Army. He owned and operated the former Middlesex Open Air Market and the Farm Spot, both in Waltham, before retiring. Billy enjoyed the outdoors whether fishing, hunting, or his annual apple picks in his orchard in Warren. He enjoyed a good game of cards and was always up for a good argument and debate and willingly offered his opinion. He spent summers at his old homestead in East Margaree and enjoyed the friendships from his membership in the French American Victory Club in Waltham. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his brother Joseph A. LeBlanc. He leaves his siblings John A. LeBlanc and his wife, Lee of Natick; Paul A. LeBlanc and his wife Rosanne of Gloucester, MA; and Lucille Marie Lituri and her husband, Mario of Waltham, MA; his seven nieces and nephews Tracy McMahon, Lisa Morrison, Lela Horiuchi, Leslie LeBlanc, and James, Paul and Steven LeBlanc; and is also survived by many grand-nephews. A funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, May 6th in The Blessed Sacrament Chapel at Saint Charles Borromeo Church. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham. MacDONALD Mary Jo MacDonald, of River Denys, age 76, passed away peacefully Monday, May 2nd, 2016, surrounded by loved ones at the Inverary Manor, Inverness. Mary Jo “Ma” was born April 19th, 1940, on Christmas Island. She was the daughter of the late Cecilia and John Farrell. She was a loving mother and devoted wife. Mary Jo is survived by her husband Malcolm A. MacDonald and 10 children: Sandi, Catherine (Dan), Karen (Joe), Malcolm Jr, Glen (Anne), Leonard (Elizabeth), Lesa (Chris), Kim (Ken), John (Lisa), and Dan; 17 grandchildren: Britney, Travis, Alex, Brandon, Janice, Charles, Cameron, Spencer, Tara, Olivia, Alexsandra, Emily, Caroline, Lauren, Kendra, Kennedy, and Chloe; and surviving siblings: Catherine, Dan, Johnny (Betty), Lenny (Anne), Anne Marie, Angie, Irene, Molly (Sander), Roddie (Gayle), Lexie, and Phonsie (Mary). She was predeceased by her parents; sisters Elizabeth and Peggy and brother Neil. Mary Jo enjoyed baking, reading, singing, listening to music, and loved animals and nature. She was a wise woman of great strength, style, and elegance. She taught her children many invaluable lessons: to be kind, to work hard, to love, to pray, to forgive, and above all, to laugh! She was loved and adored by her children and will be missed dearly by all including her “extended family” at the Inverary Manor. Resting in Green’s Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury with visitation Thursday, May 5th. Funeral Mass was offered Friday, May 6th at St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church, West Bay Road with Reverend Allan MacPhie presiding. A reception followed at the West Bay Road Fire Hall.
