Donald Ivey Born In: North Sydney, Nova Scotia Born: November 15th, 1934 Passed on: October 25th, 2016 With heavy hearts and deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved father Donald Maxwell Ivey, surrounded by his loving family, on October 25, 2016, at age 81. Born in North Sydney, on November 15, 1934, Don was the son of the late Stanley Ivey and Mary (MacIsaac) Ivey. Don was a member of St. Matthew Wesley United Church and the Seniors Pensioners Club. He worked as a stevedore at Marine Atlantic for 35 years and in his spare time, delivered gravel and coal to the surrounding area. Don was an avid walker and rarely missed his nightly stroll with his brother David. Their walks always led them to the Miners Manor to visit and care for the love of his life Esther. He never missed a day with her; he was always by her side. He could just as often be found in his favourite spot, sitting on his front deck overlooking Indian Beach with his brother Russie and good friend Albert. In his early years, Don enjoyed camping with his family and spent many weekends at the family trailer in Lake Ainsley. He was a dedicated father and husband who worked hard to care for his wife and seven children. Don is survived by his sons, Donnie (Brenda), Charles (Kimberly) and Ronnie (Juanita); daughters, Charlene (Kevin), Wendy (Wayne) and Michele (Robert); grandchildren, Leah, Stacey, Kevin, Meagan, Steven, Alicia, Melissa and Kelsey; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Dave (Mary), Terry (Marilyn), Russie, Wayne, Thelma, Betty (Peter), Linda (Lorne) and Mary (Joe) and many nieces and nephews.
