Dear list, I am interested in hearing from anyone who has tried to work on 19th century probate records online to get tips that make the process easier. Have been working on names from my family tree for Inverness and Cape Breton (Sydney) counties. I am not finding records using the familysearch.org records or the version that is on the NS archives website. There are a few key people whose deaths in Inverness come before 1850 who are not in the index. Also several people are missing from the indexes for wills from around 1876-1890. And for Cape Breton, I am interested in the period around 1890. I only need to look at records for abt 6-7 people and have started with the online approach because I live out of the region. Any suggestions will be appreciated. As is usual, I want to use probate records to verify names of children, location of farms and homes, and related information. Ardith Maney
