Gordon MacAulay Born In: New Waterford, Nova Scotia, Canada Born: June 3rd, 1938 Passed in: Las Vegas, Nevada, United States Passed on: April 28th, 2016 Gordon D. MacAulay Sr. It is with deep sadness that the family of Gordon D. MacAulay, Sr., announce his death at the Nathan Adelson Hospice, Las Vegas, Nevada on April 28, 2016. Born in New Waterford on June 3, 1938 he was the son of the late Ivan and Jane (Dewan) MacAulay. In his early years he proudly served in the RCN on the HMCS Bonaventure. From this venture we were entertained with many great stories. In 1963 Gord, along with his wife Joyce and children relocated to Boston, MA. He started work with John Sexton & Co. as a warehouse worker on the day of the J.F.K assassination. Through hard work and dedication he moved from the warehouse to trucking, to warehouse manager in several states across the USA. Gordon eventually became Director of Warehousing for Rykoff Sexton, currently known as US Foods, before retiring in Las Vegas, NV. Although he lived in the USA most of his life he kept up on Canadian news and politics. He enjoyed a good debate, which in his mind, he always won. With his wry and somewhat sarcastic sense of humor he kept us entertained with many stories of his life and travels. Gord’s children and grandchildren will always have the memory of Dad/Papa watching the T.V. on mute. Gord is survived by his wife of 55 years the former Joyce Micholsky, daughters Shauna (Jack Lashbrook), Detroit, MI, Karen and Nancy, Las Vegas, NV and daughter in law Shari of Las Vegas, NV. He will be missed by grandchildren C.J., Ashley (Greg), Jack (Taylor), Brandon, Annie, David, Daniel, Shaun and Colleen as well as great granddaughter Madelyn Grace. He is also survived by sister Judy Caborn, sister-in-law Leona MacAulay and brother-in-law Gary Micholsky (Betty). Gord was predeceased by his parents Ivan and Jane MacAulay, his son Gordon (2004), who took a piece of his heart, brother Charles (February 2016) and in-laws Pearl and Jiggy Micholsky. A funeral Mass was held at Our Lady of Wisdom in Las Vegas, NV on May 7, 2016.
