(Hunt) Parsons) - William Eric “Bill” MacSween - 75 yrs Evelyn Olive “Nanny” (Roett) Bowles - 94 yrs Francis Phillip “Frank” Nearing - 66 yrs Aubrey Dawson Born: July 8th, 1927 Passed in: Fredericton, Canada Passed on: June 9th, 2016 It is with great sadness that the family of Aubrey Dawson, of Fredericton, N.B., formerly of Cape Breton, N.S. announces his passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Thursday, June 9, 2016. Born in Sydney, N.S. on July 8, 1927 he was the son of the late Bethel Davis and husband of the late Frances (Darrow) Dawson. Aubrey is survived by his daughter, Natalie Barry (Brian) of Fredericton, N.B.; and grandchildren, Regan and Ailidh Barry. To celebrate the life of Aubrey, please join us at 164 Summerhill Row, Fredericton, N.B. on Saturday, June 11, 2016 from 4-6 p.m. There will be a Graveside Service at a later date in the Resurrection Cemetery, Cape Breton, N.S. (nee Hunt) Parsons Passed in: Halifax, Canada Passed on: June 8th, 2016 With the same grace and dignity by which she lived her life, and surrounded with much love, Shirley passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2016. Shirley was a loving mother, daughter, grandmother, partner, sister, aunt and friend and a respected employee of Canadian Blood Services in Halifax and St. John’s, N.L. She was predeceased by her parents, Percy and Joan (nee Boutilier) Hunt. Leaving to mourn with loving and lasting memories are her devoted partner Bryan MacDougall, her children Liam, Halifax; Joshua (Dasha Ermolovich), St. John’s; Emily (Jon Bulatovic), Ottawa; Ellen, Halifax and their father, William J. Parsons, St. John’s, N.L. Mourning the loss of their cherished Nana is her grandchild Olivia and her brother Nathaniel. Holding her in their hearts are her sisters, Phyllis Hunt (John Dogherty); Cathy (Gary Whalen); Patricia ‘Tish’ (Gordon Williams) and Susan (Karl Misik), as well as her many nieces and nephews and a strong circle of friends. Shirley found more pleasure in giving than receiving and to honour her, the family requests that you do an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness in her name. In lieu of flowers, donations in Shirley’s memory may be made to a local food bank. Visitation for Shirley Parsons will be held on Sunday, June 12 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel. A mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church, 40 Cabot St., Sydney. William Eric 'Bill' MacSween Born: July 12th, 1940 Passed in: Sydney Passed on: June 7th, 2016 With sadness, we, the family of William Eric ‘Bill’ MacSween, regret to announce his passing on Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at home. Born July 12, 1940, he was the only child of the late Gordon and Archena (MacLeod) MacSween. Until retirement, Bill worked as a bus driver with the CBRM. He is survived by his loving partner, Louise Marsh; daughter, Audrey MacSween-Fudge; grandchildren, Amy Lynn, Bryden, Evyn, Brooklynne, Bhreagh and Ty Hunter; great-grandson, Jorden; stepchildren, Donna and Donnie Marsh. At his request there will be no visitation or service. A private family interment will take place in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens at a later date. Evelyn Olive (Roett) Bowles Born In: Sydney Passed on: June 6th, 2016 At her home on Zion Road, Belleville, Ont. on June 6, 2016. Olive, born in Sydney, Cape Breton was in her 94th year. She was predeceased by her mother, Eunice Roett (nee Jameson), by her father, Wesley Roett Sr., by an older sister, Alma Best, by a younger sister, Gloria ‘Tootie’ Roett, and by three brothers, Tom Miller, Everett Roett and Wesley Roett Jr. Olive will be sadly missed by her sister Hazel Ruck. She was predeceased by her oldest daughter, Patricia and loved by her surviving children, Delores, Shirley, Georgina, Eddie and Jackie. Olive was predeceased by her grandson Charles and her great-grandson Tyler and will be missed by her many remaining grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. There will be no formal ceremony. A Celebration of her life will be held in the latter part of July, following that her cremated remains will be taken to Cape Breton Cemetery to rest with her family. Francis 'Frank' Phillip Nearing Born In: Glace Bay Born: March 30th, 1949 Passed in: Nanaimo British Columbia Passed on: May 24th, 2016 Frank was born March 30, 1949, in Glace Bay to the late Joseph and Matilda (Milley) Nearing. He worked as a truck driver for over 35 years before that as a heavy duty mechanic in such places as Mahatta River, Prince George, and Naniamo, passed away May 24, 2016, in the Naniamo General Hospital. He leaves behind his son Philip (Shar); daughter Brenda (Andrew) and two granddaughters Jasmine and Keira, along with brothers George, Joseph, James, Kevin and Wayne and sisters Florence, Pauline, Paula, Eva, Matilda, Corinne and many nieces and nephews. Frank was also predeceased by brothers Thomas and John and sisters Bridget in infancy and Mary. Cremation has taken place with a private spreading of ashes at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Frank’s memory to the Naniamo General Hospital. It’s time to find peace dad, Philip and Brenda. May your troubles be less and your blessings be more and nothing but happiness come through your closed door. (An Irish blessing).
