    1. [NS-CB] Inverness Oran Deaths May 02, 2018 Wednesday

    3. Inverness Oran Deaths courtesy of CAPE BRETON GENEALOGY & HISTORICAL ASSOCIATION VISIT OUR WEBSITE - <http://www.cbgen.org/ <http://www.cbgen.org/>>www.cbgen.org <http://www.cbgen.org/> NEW MEMBERS WELCOME Inverness Oran Deaths May o2, 2018 Wednesday There were 2 obituaries published today MCDANILEL (WALKER), CLAIRE HUGHEA - 68 YRS MIRONOFF (BOYLE) CATHERINE VERONICA “VON" - 96 YRS McDANIEL As simply and humbly as she lived, Claire Hughena Marie (Walker) McDaniel, of Port Hood, felt her pain slip away as she was delivered into God's hands. A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, with her rosary in hand, and the Blessed Virgin in her prayers, Hughena said goodbye to the ones she loved. In spite of her crosses, this lovely lady still found the energy and the time to carry on her duties in life with her family and friends first and foremost on her mind. Those qualities and her soft nature she instilled in her children, Trevor, Tammy (Darren), Callum (Katie), and Mark. A fifth child, Mary, just 17 days into this world awaits her in Heaven. Hughena was a dedicated employee of our school board, and over the years a much appreciated volunteer in her community in Port Hood “Dungarry” but her day was not complete unless filled with the presence of her wonderful grandchildren she cherished: Dylan (Jessica), Matthew, Georgia, Rowen, Carly, Hannah, Finley, Adilynn, Aiden, and Vennah. Native of Hay's River, Hughena was the admired sister of Finlay (deceased), Dixie (deceased), John, Vincent, and Mary. Hughena, the youngest, born in 1949, became a resident of Port Hood when she married Colin, the love of her life. That marriage of 47 years was strengthened by the love and care given by both spouses. During Colin's illness, Hughena was his rock, his love, and his caretaker as in turn, he became hers as health issues came upon her. On April 26th, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, her love of life and God would no longer be a part of this world. To medical staff in Inverness and Sydney, especially her ICU nurse, Duncan, let it be known the McDaniel family will forever be indebted. An angel of God now, you will always be Sweetheart, Mom, and Gramma to us. Visitation was held at the Port Hood Resting Place on Monday, April 30th, with funeral Mass held on Tuesday, May 1st, from St. Peter's Church, Port Hood, with Father Vincent van Zutphen officiating. Burial to follow in St. Peter's cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Peter's Parish Cemetery Fund, Port Hood. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Green’s Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. www.greensfuneralhome.ca. MIRONOFF Catherine Veronica “Von” Mironoff (Boyle) passed away peacefully in San Francisco, California, on April 22nd, 2018. Von was born on November 14th, 1921, in Mabou, Cape Breton IsIand, to the late Duncan Boyle and Catherine Boyle (Campbell). She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Eugene Mironoff. She was the adored sister of the late John Boyle and Angus “Gerard” Boyle; the 'cherished aunt of Catherine Kelly (Boyle) and Gerard Boyle, and loving godmother to Catherine. Von attended high school at St. Joseph's Convent in Mabou and then went on to graduate as a registered nurse, from St. Joseph's Hospital in Glace Bay. Her nursing career, spanning more than 50 years, began in Nova Scotia. She served in a variety of medical roles and locations, including Toronto, Boston, and San Francisco. Von met her husband in Boston, and they eventually settled in San Francisco, where she was instrumental in building their thriving medical practice. She managed the office and was loved by all the patients she cared for. Her caring and compassionate nature was evident to all those that she touched. She had a keen interest in current events and politics and travelled the world extensively. Von exuded elegance, always the epitome of a lady. She was kind, loving, and wise; a woman of conviction with a very strong faith. A Mass of Christian burial took place on Thursday, April 26th, in St. Dominic Catholic Church located at 2390 Bush Street, San Francisco, California. A private committal will be held in St. Mary Parish Cemetery in Mabou.

I know there will be a few stragglers still to come in.. My BCC list is now up to 86 looking to see who is “waked in Cape Breton”. I was left with 67 on my BCC list after I weeded out a few who have passed on or no longer looking, and added the new lookers. Some requested to get on the BCC list, were already on that list. Those that were, never missed anything. The mailing list & others, were shut down for months, but have come to life of late with limited letters & characters permitted. It is those who were on the Cape Breton mailing list, that have not been getting anything for a long time. The new extended list will start tomorrow. Carol out here in Vancouver, BC, where the sun shines and it’s almost 25C outside. _______________________________________________ _______________________________________________ Email preferences: http://bit.ly/rootswebpref Unsubscribe https://lists.rootsweb.ancestry.com/postorius/lists/ns-cape-breton@rootsweb.com/ Archives: https://lists.rootsweb.ancestry.com/hyperkitty/list/ns-cape-breton@rootsweb.com/ Privacy Statement: https://ancstry.me/2JWBOdY Terms and Conditions: https://ancstry.me/2HDBym9 RootsWeb is funded and supported by Ancestry.com and our loyal RootsWeb community

Wouldn't want to miss who was "waked" Greetings Well, I hope that all are happy & well with the obits now. My BCC list grew lots yesterday, it’s up to 111 addresses now. If you didn’t get them today, and you requested to be on my BCC list, send me a message at ritam@axion.net Also, make sure I’m not found in your “Junk Box” which may be the case of not getting at all. If you are still wanting to get on the BCC list, you can also send me a message at ritam@axion.net Now that the BCC list has been created, I’ll be able to also send out some of the articles of interest like I used too. Articles related to genealogy & history, etc. Many of those articles come with a picture or two, and they can be sent on the BCC list. I will still continue to send to the mailing list, hoping something will still get in the archives somehow. So you might still get the same message twice. I only sent this message out to the list, so don’t expect to get it twice. Don’t forget, if you are not a member of CBGHA, here is your chance for 25 bucks a year. There is tons of information related to Genealogy, including stories, cemeteries, obituaries, etc. Cape Breton Deaths courtesy of CAPE BRETON GENEALOGY & HISTORICAL ASSOCIATION VISIT OUR WEBSITE - <http://www.cbgen.org/ <http://www.cbgen.org/>>www.cbgen.org <http://www.cbgen.org/> NEW MEMBERS WELCOME Carol out here in rain soaked Vancouver, BC _______________________________________________ _______________________________________________ Email preferences: http://bit.ly/rootswebpref Unsubscribe https://lists.rootsweb.ancestry.com/postorius/lists/ns-cape-breton@rootsweb.com/ Archives: https://lists.rootsweb.ancestry.com/hyperkitty/list/ns-cape-breton@rootsweb.com/ Privacy Statement: https://ancstry.me/2JWBOdY Terms and Conditions: https://ancstry.me/2HDBym9 RootsWeb is funded and supported by Ancestry.com and our loyal RootsWeb community

If you get the obits that I’m about to send out more than once, means you are on both the CB mailing list & on my BCC list. Should you get the obits more than twice, tells me, you are using more than one email address listed. Some folk use more than one device to receive, and therefore have more than one email address to receive on the different devices. Now today, you should get the obits twice, since there isn’t much there, only four and they are small in amounts of letters & characters. Should you get these obits only once today, says you are not on my BCC list, and therefore, and will continue to not receive all the obits daily. There has been many problems with this & other lists over the past few years, of sending the obits. Ancestry.com has taken over the mailing lists, and revamped over several months, but it’s still not easy. The old archives are gone, hopefully not forever. The new archives, you have to sign up, it’s free. The amount of letters & characters permitted in one message has greatly diminished. Therefore, in order for me to get the obits into the archives and out to you, I have to break them down in parts & this creates more emails to each of you. Therefore, if you want to continue getting the obits in one piece/message, send me an email and I’ll put you on my BCC list that is growing almost daily. I do send them out daily to the list, but they are not going across the list because of size. This way, you won’t miss anything. The Inverness Oran obits that I send out, aren’t having near as much problem as the Cape Breton Deaths. If you are a member of CBGHA - the obits are archived there daily. If not a member, it’s only 25 bucks a year to join and there are tons of pages of info to research. Just follow the link/url listed above for our website. So, if you haven’t been receiving the obits and still want to continue, send me an email.
