    3. Hi Ed, I asked your questions of the Isle Madame List, and here's one reply that sort of gives it all. If you need a map of Isle Madame, they are available online. If the below information is correct, they didn't get very far at all. Joe Peterson Hello, I am not an expert. My father in law who is from West Arichat says that Glaskey point is in St Mary's, West Arichat. You go down the Port Royal road. You do not go where Allen Kipp lives but you turn right. You go up the hill and down the other side. You are in St. Marys. Before you get where John Samson lives you go straight down this road and that takes you to Glaskey Point. The other name that you have is Diggdon ,I believe. There is a family of Diggdons who live down the road which leads to Creighten Island. I hope that this information helps. My great grandfather John Barbour of Bonavista Bay, NL visited Arichat in May of 1918 to purchase a schooner. Upon seeing the ship and determining that it was not suitable, on May 15, 1918, he hired a local fisherman ( Colin Diggton ) to take him to a place where he could catch a ferry to travel back home. Travelling with him were two of his son's Daniel and Douglas Barbour and a man named Wesley Collins. As the story goes a squall tipped Diggton's boat over, my great grandfather and his two son's drowned. The boat righted itself with Colin Diggton inside and Wesley Collins hanging onto the side of the boat until they drifted ashore near the lighthouse at Glaskey Point. I did find an record online of John's and Daniel's death but nothing on Douglas who's body was never recovered. I was wondering if there were any articles published in the local papers about the incident at that time. I have also been trying to find Glaskey Point on a map but have not been able to locate it, I understand that there were people living there at one time but am not sure if the community still exists. Where was it located and how far is it from Arichat? Any help or information will be appreciated. Thank you.
