    3. Margaret Ellen Ferguson is my great aunt, she had a sister Eunice, a brother Roy and brother Robert Eric my grandfather- (there were several other siblings who died early) they were all born in Chicago.  I believe my grandfather Roderick was born in Cape Breton emmigrated to Boston and made his way to Illinois before 1888 when he married Margaret Reid.  I have a photo of Roderick that looks sort of like a sailor uniform but am not sure.  He died in a bar fight in Chicago in 1909.  The only indication of a connection to the Nicholson's  is the photos with reference to Mrs. Nicholson 2nd cousin and son Hector.   Some of my research suggests Roderick's parents are Donald and Sarah Ferguson (with Donald's second wife Elizabeth Strachen) ??  I am still working on connecting the dots myself.  I look forward to hearing from you.  Carolyn Ferguson-Sands  ________________________________ From: Jane Nicholson <jane@mrsnicholson.com> To: c sands <vonia68@yahoo.com> Cc: List <NS-CAPE-BRETON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, January 29, 2009 6:37:53 PM Subject: Re: [NS-CB] NICHOLSON/FERGUSON connection? 3. Continued. Hi folks, Over Christmas, I was the recipient of over 650 older obituaries for people with connections to the Margaree area; most from the 1960's, 70's and 80's. As they are mostly image files (only 6 or so are text files), I can't post them here. Instead, I will post lists of what I have in groups of 10, one or two per day, and will be happy to send them individually. Because of the volume, please don't ask for them all, as I don't want to tick of my internet provider :-). Also because of the volume, please be patient as I respond to specific requests.
