Hi George; It could be just a case of "Partisan Politics". Out with the old and in with the new everytime the gov't changed hands. You would need to request a copy of her file. The Family Search site has been getting better and better at providing data for researchers. Right now there is an on-going project sponsored by the Nova Scotia genealogical society with the family search site that will provide so much more data for Roman Catholic Cape Bretoners. A group of volunteers has been indexing the Antigonish dioceses Catholic church records including all of Cape Breton up to 1905 and it is hoped that the project will be finished this summer and will go online at the family search site. I have been helping out and I have found church records for some of my unknowns. Once online, you will be able to view the original record. The original church records have godparents etc that can help link families together. I can't wait for this info to go online. A lot of Catholics in Cape Breton did not register their vital statistics with the province until it became law and so this new data will be invaluable to researchers. Anne
