    3. Hi All: For reasons that I won't bore you all by enumerating, I did not properly acknowledge the work of the people who produce the Glace Bay cemetery listings used in the Index. Regardless of the fact that this resulted from a misunderstanding on my part, that failure should be corrected. Therefore I have added the following the Readme file accompanying the Index: "The listings for the cemeteries at Glace Bay constitute approximately 26% of the entries in this version of the Index and represent a significant amount of work on the part of all involved, and so it seems only proper to specifically acknowledge the people who made it possible. The following is taken from the Cape Breton Genealogy and Historical Association web site on which these listings are displayed: 'The CAPE BRETON GENEALOGY & HISTORICAL ASSOCIATION would like to thank everyone involved in making this site available to the public of all, the genealogists who are trying to preserve Cape Breton History alive. Special Credits: Gerald O'Neill; for acquiring permission from all the right places Maureen Burton McNeil; for the typing and the proof reading and much more Roger Tobin; for installing the pages on-line Father Douglas Murphy; who agreed to have this material put on-line Wayne Macvicar; for giving us permission to extract material from his books All Members Of The Cemetery Committees: Archie MacDonald Camilla Campbell Richard Young Gerald O'Neill Mary Gallant Carol Wadden Rosella Carroll Gualbert Hanrahan and Lillian MacKinnon John A. God took him home it was His Will, But in our hearts we love him still; His memory is as dear today, As in the hour he passed away. We often sit and think of him, When we are all alone. For memory is the only friend, That grief can call it own. Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Peter and Ludwika (Gorniak) Tynski. He was a devout member of St. Mary?s Polish parish, and a long-serving member of St. Michael?s Polish Benefit Society. A long and varied career saw him first employed at the Steel Plant before enlisting in the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War where he served as an air gunner in Bomber Command. Before returning to Sydney at war?s end, he attended the Ontario College of Art in Toronto where he developed and refined his abundant artistic talent and then established his own business, John Tynski Signs and Designs on Charlotte Street. He later took a position at the former Adult Vocational Training Centre teaching art and sign writing until his retirement in 1980. As a testament to his distinctive brush stroke and unparalleled calligraphy, he became busier than ever in ?retirement?. His work was seen throughout Sydney and beyond for many decades. He also volunteered his talent and time for school and hospital projects, especially to St. Mary?s Polish Church. He often conceived and created more personal works for special occasions such as weddings and anniversaries, most notably family trees done in ornate calligraphy. His hand-painted Easter eggs and most famously, his portraits of Santa Claus done entirely in wax crayon, were given as cherished gifts for many years. He was also a tremendous softball pitcher whose fastball and changeup baffled many a batter. 3. Hi everyone, As some of you know I'm in the process of moving from Newfoundland to NS. Because I also have to move internet providers, my web site has been down for several days. Because I won't have a fixed address for several weeks, I have moved my web site to RootsWeb's freepages. The new address is: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~tleblanc/index.html All the pages are exactly the same as they were before, with one recent addition: a transcription of the cemetery at St. Patrick's Parish in North East Margaree. Apologies to anyone who tried to access the site in the past week. Cheers, Trish PS If you have links to my web site, I ask that you please update them to the new address. 3. Hi Folks, I had been suspending my search for a while, but a few days ago came across something that reinvigorated my search...turns out to be more misleading wanton money grabbing in the profitable genealogy bizzness. Do any of you get angry at this dodgy advertisement ? For example: "Join now and become one of our 20,000,000 members with over 500,000,000 files on 200,000,000 surnames." There are many variation, but they all come across as if "they" have unique sources for genealogical material...for a price. If I hadn't have been pouring over the same sources for 10-15 years I'd be inclined to pay to view this site, that page etc..Does this bother you ? Cheers, Bernie Hanlon,Beijing P.S. Or am I wrong ? Try to do or say something nice to someone today ! _________________________________________________________________ Drag n’ drop—Get easy photo sharing with Windows Live™ Photos. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowslive/products/photos.aspx

The buzz would go around so fast and I am sure someone would say it was well worth the money. Always ask on a couple of Lists if anyone has paid to join a certain site and get their responses first.
